just referring to Madden video games
where sometimes it seems like the computer has no intentions of letting you win, no matter what you do. you could be up by 5 touchdowns with a minute to go, and there was no effing way the computer was going to let you win.
Those games are always the best...

If Carp struggles like this next start
he needs to be skipped a start to give him a break.
"I remember once talking to one guy on the Cardinals and asking him what Pujols was like as a teammate. He said something that’s really special, if you think about it. He said: "Albert is so good that you feel like you let him down when you screw up." I thought that had to be the ultimate line that could ever be said about a ballplayer. I build my baseball team around that ballplayer."

is because his timing is off on his pitching. I wonder if he has a stiff back because his top half and his bottom half aren’t working in rhythm.

Greg Amsiger or whatever his name is
also graduated from Linewood. They are just about the only two famous people to graduate from the school.
Seriously, was there an open competition? Did he intern with the Cardinals? I remember he used to work on FX when they had baseball and he’s never really been a super-impressive broadcaster. So to get hired straight out of college and be given a GREAT job like this is impressive and puzzling at the same time.
