Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

and boom goes the dynamite...

Busch Stadium: 9/18/09, Cardinals vs Cubs

It was a fine night for a ball game.

With the tying run on 3rd with 1 out in the 5th, Brendan Ryan hits a fly to left.

Bobby Scales catches the ball.

Mark DeRosa is safe at home. Score tied 2-2 after 5.

Star-divide

Matt Holliday connects in the bottom of the 9th.

Cardinals Win!

We can always count on Aaron Heilman to serve up those 9th inning doozies.

What is going on with Yadier Molina’s hair?

Pujols does his best to persuade Holliday to stay in St Louis.

100 + 1 = 101

Yeah me too

sounds like one of the events of the year. If there’s one thing guaranteed to make Cards fans take Matt Holliday into their hearts forever, it’s a 9th inning walkoff bomb vs the Cubs.

Felonius Monk - bitching to contact since 2008

Really neat picture of Holliday right at the Point Of Contact

Notice how he’s still largely connected, rather than extended, at the POC. His back elbow is away from his back hip due to the outside location of the pitch, but his back elbow is still bent closer to 90 degrees than it is extended.

Notice that he’s making contact with the pitch farther forward than many people preach when hitting an outside pitch.

suggestion

good tagging job, but I think it’s possible to go one further and tag this for the specific game. so this will be linked up forever on its SBN page.

done.

and to think I almost didn’t photograph this game – found my battery charger at the last minute – was stealing juice in the 2nd and 3rd innings in order to make it through the full game…

What is Thursty doing?

He can’t hit, field, or run the bases. And now we know he can’t even celebrate without falling over.

I don't why it took me so long to check this FanPost out,

but it’s wonderful. Great job.

What brand/model of camera did you use for this photos, broslice?

by mynameistyler on Sep 25, 2009 1:59 PM EDT reply actions

Camera is a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT

The first and last shots were taken with a Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS lens.

The player shots were taken with a Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS lens.

Would be great to start a flikr feed

for Cardinal pictures. I’m always trying to find high res pictures for my desktop background but haven’t found a good source for them. This pics are great and would be even better in their original resolution.

I was being facetious.

I know what flickr is and while I fully recognize its brilliance, I personally would just assume host my photography on an independent site, without any restrictions in terms of size or aesthetic.

I really...

dig the color of the first and last shots.
