A sinker and 2-seamer are basically the same
But some 2-seamers tail and other sink, depending on arm slot and pronation.
A 4-seamer will average out a few MPH faster than the 2-seam/sinker.
That statement is a little too strong
but the difference between Wellemeyer’s sinker and his straight fastball isn’t easy for either pitch F/X or the batter to discern, unfortunately for him and us.
