Leadoff walk to Albert, followed by our 4th place hitter popping out, our 5th place hitter looking at 3 straight strikes (backwards K), and a weak groundout from our 6th place hitter.

The uninitentional-intentional walk to Albert = the right move in this situation.

Our reliever:

29 pitches over 1.2 IP, 3 H, 2 BB, 2 ER (including a HR to some dude named Keppinger).

Their reliever:
22 pitches over 2 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 0 ER (this includes navigating through the heart of the order after issuing a leadoff walk to Albert).

I’d say that’s the difference in the game, no?

I guess on the GOB side, at least K-Mac takes the loss. It sucks when relievers blow leads and then end up getting the W.

Let’s say that Tony and Dave are gone after this year. Can we really expect someone else to come in and do as well as they have with this team?
