Albert just finished telling Matt a joke
“… and so the elephant, totally exasperated by all this says ‘No I’m not crazy, I just came in here ‘cause I wanted to buy a freaking watermelon!’”
It’s one of Pujols’ very favorite jokes, and he loves it so much he can barely get through telling it without cracking up. Holliday thought it was funny, but not as funny as Pujols. This is because Holliday obviously missed the subtle references to Adlai Stevenson and the “military-industrial complex” that gives the punchline a whole other level of meaning.
Albert Pujols does not have "down" years. He has "~6 WAR" years.

actually, I think they were giggling about Shaq.
…but the rest of it is true.

It was Mark DeRosa next to them
And that’s exactly what I heard them saying. You have an uncanny ability to read lips
I love that you captured that moment, momup
It was hilarious to watch, and I wasn’t sure telling the story would quite convey it. The three guys were gathered together like they were at a playground and someone’s just put a frog in the teacher’s desk.
