this story makes me sad
i didnt want him on MY team, but i didnt want him to get canned either. as much as i dreaded seeing him come up there because i knew that he would probably fly out to center, there was at least a small chance that he would hit a HR, and i could always count on him bringing his delicious tobacco burrito to the plate.

haha. were you a fan of The Dugout
in the pre-AOL Fanhouse days? The first time they referred to his tobacco burrito I laughed so hard I was crying.
Poor Baby Dunc. I hope he catches on somewhere.

Ohhh...now I remember (with help from the internet) that it was from the daily redbird? I think.
But it was a Dugout-style chat, right?

So I guess that was you, huh? Sorry I didn't catch that the first time.

No worries.
I just like feigning indignation.
The fact of the matter is, I internet peaked in August of 06. That is my burden to bear.
(I had an incredible series planned this year for FR before Hooker got suspended. His suspension really ruined it, though. The irony, of course, is my make believe Hooker did eventually get suspended.)
(I need to come up with a daily comic strip for September.)
Shut up, Fritz™.

It is sad..
He did help our team once upon a time. But this whole situation really illustrates how Tony and Dave weren’t doing what was best for the team by keeping Chris not only on the major league team but putting him in the lineup. When he’s moved to a team with no attachment to him he ony lasts a month in their minor league system before he was canned. Tony would have kept marching him out there and defending him to the bitter end. This just goes to show that the criticism the fans were giving was not unmerited. Nobody was picking on him. It was just clear to everyone except DAve and Tony that he couldnt cut it. He had a few years in the bigs. Way more than most people ever get to sniff at.
