i was hesitant that royal pains would be any good. but after giving it a chance, it’s grown on me, i really like it.

i’m super pissed in plain sight cut their season short because of the return of mad men. if the season premier is any indication, IPS had nothing to worry about from mad men. ugh, what a hugely disappointing season premier.

It didn't feel like a season premiere. Felt like any other episode.

But they apparently did not have a good response to last season’s “be everything to everyone” season premiere. They decided to go another route.

I thought there was a lot of good symbolism. It’s an episode that you don’t really want to rewatch, but might need to in order to see everything.

"I remember once talking to one guy on the Cardinals and asking him what Pujols was like as a teammate. He said something that’s really special, if you think about it. He said: "Albert is so good that you feel like you let him down when you screw up." I thought that had to be the ultimate line that could ever be said about a ballplayer. I build my baseball team around that ballplayer."

so how does the playoff roster eligibility work?

is it pretty much just the 25 guys we run out there on sept 1 are the only 25 guys we can use in the playoffs barring injury?

Of course, hope means being cut down on some street corner, as you run like mad, by a random bullet.

by prophetjohn on Aug 21, 2009 1:21 AM EDT reply actions

i think that they must have played before Sept 1.

But other than that I think its like having a normal 25 man and a 40 man. If a guy gets hurt, you can replace him. Also, it resets for each series IIRC.

by mopack on Aug 21, 2009 1:41 AM EDT up reply actions

I know when he was injured a few years ago, he did color commentary during Braves broadcasts from the dugout.

Direct TV

with EI, and the $10 sports package gets you FSNMW . The only thing it blacks out for me is the replays.

the only thing that is blacked out for me…in Montana ….are the game replays. I get all FSN feeds.

I don't understand people getting all giddy about this

we had a 7 game lead with like 13 games left in 2006 and if not for John Smoltz, we’d be still crying about that.

I just don’t want the season to end. Too much fun.

This team is clearly better than the 2006 team, and the team chasing us is not very good.
