Tweeting for Powder Blues (PBs)
Our (blue)grassroots campaign for 2010 Powder Blue Saturdays next year begins in earnest. Origins of it here. I would love to see the Powder Blues back as a 3rd jersey. We have Sunday hats, why can't we have Saturday jerseys that remind us of how great of a season 1982 was?
I've used the Twitter to the best of my ability - Dgoold and The Hawk. That is the extent of my knowledge of Cardinal-related tweeters.
Hash-up those "powderblues" if you're down.

Nope
Don’t like ‘em, don’t need ‘em. Gray looks much better. Plus, the PBs were road jerseys, but if they used them as 3rds they would undoubtedly wear them at home, like KC is doing. Bad idea. In fact, 3rd jerseys are a bad idea in general, they’re just marketing bullshit, and I’m glad we don’t wear them.

Everything was great about 1982
except the road unis. There’s got to be a better way to honor that team.
I guess I didn’t connect the dots to realize that the PB boosters wanted to wear them at home. That just makes this doubly weird.
The powder blues were the worst uniform change the Cardinals made since changing the Cardinals script to St Louis briefly in the early 30s.

Now there I disagree
I would like to see St. Louis on the road jerseys, incorporated into the current “birds on bat” design. I was glad to see the Orioles finally accede to their fans’ wishes and return Baltimore to theirs, ditto the Dodgers with Los Angeles. I know the Cardinals fancy themselves a regional franchise, and that’s fine, but St. Louis is a great city and they should wear its name with pride.

Maybe for the road
but I kind of like that the Cardinals are one of the few teams that still have their name rather than their place-name on their road unis.
In the 30s, they used St Louis home and away for awhile. Apparently fans didn’t care for it and Cardinals reappeared. Examples at Dressed to the Nines.

I like the PB's
But I think they should be reserved for one weekend when we play the Brewers. That way, the Brewers could wear their 82’ uniform as well.
Also, notice how on that Dressed to the Nines site, there is no black mannequin until 1958? I’m just sayin…
He winds up for the pitch, it's a SCREWBALL!

I wonder why it’s called “powder” blue? I mean, why use a specific adjective/descriptor for a colour that does not actually refer to a specifically coloured object. Wierd.
