We had her 13 years

She had some pain from bad hips but she was fine for the most part. 7 days ago she started throwing up once in the middle of the night for 3 straight days, then she stopped eating. She got super weak and thin so we started giving her liquids and broth using a straw like thing.

She got strong again, started to eat and drink on her own but was still a little shaky on her feet. She seemed to be getting better but then about midnight last night she just sat up and started panting. About 3, she started panting and shaking and we sat with her for 2 hours trying to help her. She kept getting worse and finally went about 4:30.

I’ve never been this sad in my life. Outside of my lady, that dog was my favorite thing on this earth.

The day I lost my dog

was one of the worst of my life (and that’s saying a lot). I feel for ya.

The guy who really needs to come back to earth is Julio Lugo. He flat-out sucks, or at least he did until he sold his soul at the foot of the Gateway Arch. by Not Bruce Froemming BCB

Me too.

She’d had surgery to remove cancer, and it was obvious she was feeling better. Two weeks later, she stopped drinking, eating. We took her to emergency vet, but it was too late. Fluid had built up in her lungs – a complication from the surgery.

That was 6 years ago and I still miss that dog.

Hang in there, Hardcore.

Thank you both for your kind words

when she was younger I’m shocked she was never hit by a car. She would break loose and run and run and run. The fact that she survived that is a blessing.

My dog did that, too.

She was a huskie. All she wanted to do was run and play chase. Once you caught up to her, she’d tear off again.

Exactly

and she had the uncanny knack of tearing off again towards traffic.

I got my first dog when I was 6.

She was a collie puppy. She was a beautiful pure breed. She had puppies after a few years and we kept one of them. When I was about 14, I had just come in from going to the movies and my mom reminded to feed the dogs. I went out and She was laying in the dog house so I tried to call her out. She wouldnt come so I crawled in and I couldnt get her to stand up. We eventually got her to the vet and they gave her medicine and she could stand. We had to leave her over the weekend. Monday after school My mom told me that she had relapsed and had to put her to sleep. It was horrible. Now, her daughter in 13 and has bad arthritis and I know it is only a matter of time.

Regardless, you can always know that you gave the m a great life, and you got a little out of it too.

"I remember once talking to one guy on the Cardinals and asking him what Pujols was like as a teammate. He said something that’s really special, if you think about it. He said: "Albert is so good that you feel like you let him down when you screw up." I thought that had to be the ultimate line that could ever be said about a ballplayer. I build my baseball team around that ballplayer."
