Tasteless beer

Watching a Cubs fan toss suds on Shane of Hawaii led me to think of amazing things I've seen at games.  The PD lists atrocious behavior in Philadelphia.  This was my recollection of a three-game series I watched in 1991 - I played hooky from Villanova - best three days of the term.

Love to hear from others in CN

. One game some nuns got up and danced on the Phillies' dugout during the 7th inning stretch. The fans started booing and yelling things like, "Take it off sister . . " and worse.

Another game there was some marriage proposal announced and the stadium cam spotlighted the couple. The fans were energized, "She's a dog. He, guy, my grandmother's a widow and looks better. . " and so on. The poor lady started crying and ran away. The camera followed her and the fans hooted. The third game some high school majorette tossed her baton about 600 feet in the air and dropped it. Surprise, the fans _ooed her. You fill in the _lanks.

That's pretty bad

I have to agree. I’m not going to try and defend them, but I am sure that at least 3/4 of those people MAY have had 1 too many…

Man, with this outfield, need to get rid of that Rasmus guy. :)

Cowever, in Defense..

…of Philly fans, I will never, ever forget the “Ice Bowl” game, that frozen slab of football greatness in which ..thousands of Eagles fans tossed rock-hard ice balls at the Dallas Cowboys and that miserable, hateful Jimmy Johnson – you cud see ice balls bouncing off his never-changing fake hairpiece like it was Captain America’s shield. The Cowboys are always hated in Philly, but Jimmy Johnson was absolutely despised. Classless, perhaps, but it was one of the greatest mooments in Eagles/Cowboys lore, and unforgettable for those who were there or who watched it unfold on tv.

Ahhhh, Buddy Ryan, the Jerry Springer of Football, where hath thee gone?

;=8)

I hate Jason Marquis!

People do stupid things

and what more could you expect out of Cubs fans?

Victorino filed a police report on the guy who threw the beer, and the dude’s being charged with battery.

High price to pay for 15 seconds of fame, eh bud?

Forget Christmas in July... every day's a Holliday in St. Louis.

beer is good

you just have to drink in moderation only a fat ass would drink a whole two liter of pop in one day. Same with beer. no reason for more than a couple of drinks at a time. cub fans are idiots and know they have to help their team that is hitting the skids. reminds me of the picture of the 1959 world series

only lawyers and English teachers should care for grammar are you one?

The Pirates,Reds,Royals, and Padres are not major league teams

I don't know if you'll ever read this, but...

I find your signature humorous. I’m obsessive about grammar*. I’m currently an English teacher, and I’m trying to attend law school next year.

*I would like to stipulate that my grammar obsession does not carry over onto internet blogs, before someone nitpicks every response I’ve ever made…
