Could someone tell me the story behind this?
I heard something about Carpenter punching Ludwick…don’t really know much else about it…

Per the VEB Abridged Glossary: Luggage
Ryan Ludwick shows up to the July 5, 2009 game with a shiner around his eye. He supposedly tripped on some luggage. Ludwick proceeds to tear up the league and win Player of the Month honors. Later, ’round July 20, we find out that supposedly Chris Carpenter allegedly gifted him with that shiner. Allegedly. Now used whenever a player needs extra motivation to not-regress.
The first rule of the luggage is we don’t talk about the luggage.
