Like you saw
with my previous dysfunctional link to the Papa Dunc clip, my skills are lacking. I’ll eventually figure it out, but if it’s a lot simpler than I think, pls feel free to let me know. And thanks for the JP Fangraphs link – strange how a player doing well now in his last year makes you worry on the next contractual manifestation.
And while I’m on this machine, I’d report that when I was back in the Lou last month, I went to two games, one with Welly, walking 5 and hitting two, and the other with Thompson and a non existent offense save for an exciting triple by Ryan.
One game was seats at the 3rd base dugout, row 2, which turned out to mean row 28, because they use A to Z before getting to numbers. Hard to tell from that angle whether or not a pitch was a strike, aside from the vertical perception, I wonder how a pitching coach does it from basically the same angle – kinda relates to the earlier conversation about pitcher/hitter tech advantages.
Also, though the new place is nice and easy to get around in, I think Busch II with the grass was pretty alright.
Other mysteries remain. TL
