Vote on the VEB T-Shirt - UPDATE 3

Lots of good ideas where posted on the last thread but now we need to get the ball rolling. I am just going to post all the T-shirt ideas that were posted in the last thread as posts. Just rec the one you think the one is the best. Also, if you like a front but not the back vice versa SAY SO. I like to get this hammered out by Saturday.

Also, We still need a place to get these made. I prefer a place with easy online ordering but open to anything. I might personally just screen print myself one.

So this is my first attempt at making the T-shirt. I think it turned out pretty good. Going to print red on powder blue shirt soon also. Will hopefully have pics for that soon. I have deceided to just sell the Che shirts myself and put Hardcore Legend's black shirt up on CafePress. I will probably sell the shirts for $15+shipping. I can do pretty much what ever color's you want to mix and match with the Che. Black on Red, Red on Blue, Black on Blue,....

P.S I know I missed an exclamation point.

P.S.S Those lines went away they were just temporary from ironing.

I'd love this one on red.

Not sure how the contrast would work out, but it feels wrong not wearing red to a Cards game.

On with the (good) youth movement!

I think it would look shitty on red.

Black, white, or grey are all preferable.

what about a shirt with grey material with a black rectangle on the front,

with the art within the rectangle? i like the black/red contrast, but yeah, an all-black T-shirt is sometimes not what you want.

White or grey would be classy as well.

I just can’t get used to the idea of a black Cards shirt.

With the URL and merge 2 designs.

To me it just didn’t look right on Gray. It needs a darker color to reflect off of. What about Away Blue?

I think it needs a www and .com

Most people when they see “Viva El Birdos” do not think of this web page. They don’t know what they are looking at. It might take away from part of the appeal of the shirt but also add’s advertisement. I think the URL is a must

The STL logo is very much copyrighted

the VEB logos I used, the copyright is in question.

This shirt would have to exist without the STL.

by FlimtotheFlam on Aug 2, 2009 2:11 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

why does it "need" to be on there?

This shirt is pretty unofficial as it is, so it’s not like the point is to market the site. The point is to display our pride as members of the community. You don’t need a url to do that. A URL makes it look like some free giveaway swag you got for signing up.

I mean, honestly, what’s the point? It’s not like it adds anything to the design.

On with the (good) youth movement!

I honestly like this one the best

But it needs a few changes. The STL logo has to be changed to something simply says “STL”. The URL needs to be gone. What this shirt needs is good looking back. Somewhere inbetween arch supports and my own back’s

Stat Whore

by FlimtotheFlam on Jul 30, 2009 4:22 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Why not change the STL

To a VEB of some sort? Wouldn’t that make more sense? I would put the website on the sleeve of the shirt and you could do a number of things on the back of it:

  • You know Dan, it really is!
  • Improving the VORP of Cardinals fans since 20** (whenever the site was created)
  • Where’s my Frankilns?

You could also just leave it blank and let people personalize the back with a number and their own name or another name.

I like the basic design

Although I think there needs to be some mention of the Cardinals on the back and maybe extend out the front logo to include the URL.

Maybe:
VIVA
EL
BIRDOS
   .COM

Maintain the VEB out front, but add the .COM to the bottom.

If you can’t legally add Cardinals to the list on the back, maybe add a ST. LOUIS to make it clear that it is for a Cardinals website.

The shirts would be red. The letters would be gold on a navy background with white piping. The shortstop is wearing more of trucker hat and the stir-ups. Sort of a Ryan homage. The Che Shirt has been the overall favorite. But who is to say we can’t have more than one. The biggest problem is where to get these shirts made.

Big fan of Zazzle

I’ve used them multiple times for work events and golf outings and they always come out looking nice, there’s no hassle, and I’ve never had a problem with an order. Never used CafePress although I’ve heard good things about them too..

If I personally make the T-shirts

Than it won’t be a problem to put it a powder blue. I just have to find some place locally that has blank powder blue shirts but that won’t be that hard.

The problem is online T-shirt custom t-shirt shops. I have been rather underwhelmed with the quality of online T-shirt shops. Not a lot of choice of color for T-shirts and I haven’t read good things in terms of quality.

This design is perfect for a powder blue print online

The dark shirts (e.g. red) almost always suck, but the light ones (including light blue) usually work pretty well, particularly with a monochromatic design such as this.

I did a poor job at applying the emulsion

Tried pouring some on than squeeging it around. It was a mess. When I put it out with the image in the sun it just didn’t come out right.

I just did a smaller second attempt and this seemed to turn out all right. I applied the emulsion by brush and it was a lot smoother and cleaner. I did the actual photo emulsion under an indoor halogen light. This one looks better than the first. I am just letting it dry off now before I try it out.

The smaller one is the url so I am going to just try it on some old T-shirts.

I assumed it would fail the first couple times. It is always difficult to get something right the very first time.

So this is my idea so far

I think I am going to just make the Che shirts myself. They are simple enough being one color. Should not be that much money around $15 for the shirt. I can either do the shirt on red or baby blue. Really any color should not be to much of a problem.

I will put HL’s shirt on Cafepress.com because it is multiple colors. CP only lets you put one design of a t-shirt up at a time. So this will allow us to have two different designs for T-shirts.

I should have a done version of the Che T-shirt up tonight.
