We have 9 off days the next 9 weeks

One a week. Do we really need a 5th starter anymore?

Ideally no

If we don’t want noodled armed pitchers come playoff time probably

can't remember where i read it

but i think we have the potential to only need 8ish starts from the 5th starter the rest of the way.

what version do you have?

I am planning on buying PS, and am leaning toward Elements 7. CS is waaaaay too expensive. But, is CS worth it?

Note that bringing Carp in to try to save the bullpen some work

turned out to be the most brilliant managerial move ever, as we bring in our fourth pitcher of the inning.

It looks old school to me

reminds me of the original Frank Thomas, Frank Thomas.

A few of the teams back in the late 50’s/early 60’s had the vests and all of the pics I saw in super old magazines and baseball almanacs in grade school always had pictures of those guys in their vests but with (essentially) sleeveless t-shirts on underneath.

It looked cool to me back then, and still does now.

(And, yes, the grade school I went to in the mid-80’s to early-90’s still had baseball mags form the 60’s. Thanks god we grew up poor.)

Holy shit!

Watch the web gems tonight

Pirates game. LF (Delwyn Young?) comes in on the ball, muffs it, kicks it up in the air, and the 2B catches it for an out, then throws to 1B for the double play

Of all sad words of tongue or pen; the saddest are these: 'It might have been!'

That play was awesome

Oh, hey, Mr H!

The wife made up this fine rhubarb pie! You know I can’t finish it all, but after you’re weekend, you sure do need it… You’re nothing but skin and bones!

Sure is a nice night for an iced tea! Hey, check out the tire swing Mr Maybees built. Jill and Mickey just love it to death, they do! Oh, have you heard? Mrs. M cooks up a man fried chicken… I’m betting you’ll have a full bird and some biscuits on your stoop after Sunday’s contest!

Oh, what a lovely evening. Lightning bugs, watermelon, and an all star left fielder! All in my neighborhood. You can’t beat it, Matt, you cant! Oh, listen to me carrying on about your work… like you want to hear about me whipping up malts down at Lindenwood Drugs!

Well, sir, iIt sure is nice to have such a strapping young lad in the neighborhood to keep the riff raff out. Billy Butler, four houses down on your left, got his bike stolen two springs back! I’m sure that won’t happen now that you’re in town!

Oh, I’m just carrying on now!

Well….. Night, Mr H!
