Kazmir-Zambrano was Jim Duquette's trade

Duquette was Phillips’ successor.

According to Wikipedia, Phillips traded away Jason Bay for Jason Middlebrook and tried to toss Reyes into a trade to the Indians for Roberto Alomar.

He took on the contracts of Mo Vaughn, Alomar, Mike Bordick, Rickey Henderson, and Jeromy Burnitz. Combined age of 9,320.

get game reports. Their performance is graded.

does anything come of it?

I can’t imagine it does. as people like angel hernandez are still in the league

by dcfcblues on Jul 27, 2009 8:39 PM EDT up reply actions

They ran off

a bunch of bad umps awhile back. Basically, there is a lot of jockeying for position and political struggle among umpires and between the umps and MLB. Better umps get better gigs – like the advanced rounds of the playoffs. They stand to earn more money if they umpire better.

Every baseball fan should read this book.
