There wasn't really enough room to throw any elbows in the overflow thread. Sticking around for TLR's post game presser (and it should be a good one). Expect fireworks.

I actually think they handled it well
once it was no longer a vital part of the story, after they Got Together, it was less prevalent. A lesser show doesn’t tone it down as much, and while there still might be too much of them picking out drapes patterns etc. I give them credit for moving it into the background at all.
While it was going on, though, the Jim/Pam angle was excellent. Season two is one of the great story arcs in TV.
Do you (or anyone else)
think Andy is going to have one too many drinks with Oscar and make a bad decision next season?
My wife and I felt the “Andy is curious” subplot was built up awesomely all last season.
"I usually don’t read other peoples sigs." -Cuttah
Eh
I think the ingredients are there, but I also think that could demean Oscar’s character too. Plus, I’d really hate for The Office to turn into a big gay joke. It’s so much sharper than that.
If it kept running as an unsuspecting subplot
I’d be happy, too.
"I usually don’t read other peoples sigs." -Cuttah
To me it would be too convenient
I see Oscar as being the most normal, smartest, most competent guy in the office. Why he’s there is anyone’s guess. Having him and Andy, who is arguably the dumbest character, “hook up” would be a betrayal of the character to me.

Season Two's Jim and Pam WAS amazing
If you didn’t feel horrible for Jim at the end of “Casino Night” then you are heartless. My wife cried for two days. No joke.
I like your observation about the modified PB&J dynamic…they’ve slowly made the show about Michael again and fleshed out the secondary characters. I personally love both the Michael/Holly and Dwight/Andy dynamics.

after they kissed
at the end of casino night, after all the jan misdirection and everything else, I walked around my dorm room like a nervous wreck. I just wasn’t sure how the writers could possibly handle it.
luckily I was alone at the time.
It manages to touch on deep, universal emotions.
The acting is borderline brilliant IMO, and the writing is some of the best on TV; creative and subtle. Krasinski and Fisher have great chemistry, Rainn Wilson and Ed Helms are hilarious, and Steve Carell’s performance as Michael Scott manages to be appaling, dickish, selfish, immature…and yet incredibly sympathetic all at the same time.

let's not overdo this pitch selection thing
he still threw them, and they were still bad. This isn’t Anthony Reyes we’re talking about, at least pre-shoulder Reyes.
Dan
Tony is to blame for everything. Same with Welly’s pitch selection! Those sliders were getting killed and yet tony kept calling for him.
(never mind those PAs like Tejada were he throw a great slider two pitchers earlier before the hanger gets killed)
We all know Welley sucks
but you don’t think it is any fault of Tony’s for running him out there?

wasn't it MO who said there weren't any options at AAA

Either way, it’s bullshit.
I have a very, umm...photographic brain. A lot like Ansel Adams but in color and with a lot more, uh.....insertion and pubic hair.
What I really blame Tony for...
Is how he has been handling Walters.
You have a bad 5th starter (Wellemeyer). So what do you do with possible replacements in the minors for him? Call them up and have him take his place in the rotation?
No, of course not. You use them as “long men”, leaving them on the bench for weeks at a time. But then you don’t actually use them as long men, apparently putting them in in a possible game breaking moment.
I don’t think Walters is very good, but much like Hawksworth and 1-2 others (I think), they should be kept in the roles they have spent their careers in – starting. That would give them a better chance to succeed.
Because groundball pitches > flyball pitches
At least in the minds of our staff. Why do all our pitchers have to learn a slider/cutter? Its a team approach to pitching.
Does LaRussa call the pitches?
I have a very, umm...photographic brain. A lot like Ansel Adams but in color and with a lot more, uh.....insertion and pubic hair.

I'll never forget all the times
he got rocked and said it was the best game he pitched all year. Or giving up a monster homerun and saying that the pitch was exactly where he wanted it.

have to hate Wellemeyer. All he does is talk about the velocity on his pitches.
Todd Wellemeyer: This is a step forward.
WTF? Really. This is a step frward?

he had good stuff
he just left a couple pitches up. He felt real good! If it just wasn’t for those damn umps!

maybe todd could stop hanging sliders, that'd be a good "Step in the right direction"
ugh. anyone else think after hearing tony that Todd will be starting vs Phil?
I thnk its as much of a certainty as
Duncan and Ankiel batting 5th in 2 of the 3 games

Did you see him pitch in Chicago?
I have a very, umm...photographic brain. A lot like Ansel Adams but in color and with a lot more, uh.....insertion and pubic hair.

Douchey Tim from Jerseyville
texts in “Time to shave the mustaches guys.”
WRONG, Tim from Jerseyville. The ‘staches are solid. Sure, it’s time for Wellemeyer to shave his mustache, but he can do that somewhere else.
yeeeah.
keep the ’staches, guys.

i kind of felt bad for him. he looked like he was saying, “y’know, i kind of know i sucked,” but then he said, “i felt the best i have all year.” clearly he was confused.

yahoo still has DeRosa's 1st inning homer listed as an inside the park job
unfortunately the highlights show that not to be the case. damn.
I had a dream last night that Scott Rolen was playing 3rd and batting 7th for us
Not sure why he was batting 7th, but whatever, it was cool

probably because the outfield of Dunc, Ank, and Thursty were batting 4-5-6
