Lohse just got another strike out

The HR he gave up was his 5th pitch of the game and 2 of the BB’s were also. He seems to be settling in now. Not sure another rehab is necessary.

Hear, hear. Not trying to rain on a sunny day; however, the team has so many AAAA players mispositioned and very erratic back of the rotation trio. The defense is comparable only to itself - or a little league outfit. . .

OK

So this might be the downer for the evening…I apologize.

I didn’t know where else to put this, but I thought I’d throw it out there.

What can the Cardinals’ hitters do differently to prepare for the game? Starting pitchers, the first time through the Cardinals’ order, have held us to .209/.269/.324/.593 line. OUCH! The Cardinals have 144 hits the first time around against a pitcher and 138 strikeouts. DOUBLE OUCH!

Are you kidding me? Something needs to change.

Of course, as I type this I’m checking tonight’s recap and the line the first time around tonight was:

9 PA, 3 hits, 2 walks, 2 Ks

i get the feeling that ludwick is turning it around

i have a theory that ankiel is not hitting this season in hopes the cards resign him…he knows the cards won’t resign him if he costs to much…he’s attempting to play himself into our price range due to his tittie baby connection to tony

Somehow, ESPN has even managed to ruin

Baseball Tonight. Whatever happened to Ravech and Gammons just talking baseball? Now I have Eric Young and Vina telling me that the Giants are the sleeper in the Wild Card Race, which they currently lead. Huh?

by MichiganBird on Jul 2, 2009 10:12 PM EDT reply actions

I brought that up a few weeks ago

What’s even more laughable is…

wait, I mean, the whole thing is stupid. Them standing up. Their clothes. The gay-playful way they try to banter around.

You’ve probably seen that “resume” thing they pop up. You know, Kurkwhatever has written books, etc. One time they had a guy yapping and his resume popped up. IT was something like “hit .219 in 2 ML seasons”. So yeah, that guy is worth listening to.

Someone responded and told me to start watching Quick Pitch on MLB Network. It’s a little better.

by sdrone on Jul 2, 2009 10:18 PM EDT up reply actions

I think ESPN's problem is thinking resume = ability

to broadcast. IMO, the only ex-jock worth listening to on this network is Hershiser. Vina, E. Perez, Winfield, E. Young are all horrifyingly bad at this.

by MichiganBird on Jul 2, 2009 10:25 PM EDT up reply actions

I wish I got MLB Network. Not on my provider here.

What’s blows my mind is that the producers condone this. Someone in a production meeting green-lighted these guys saying that the Wild Card leader halfway through the season is the sleeper. There were graphics and everything. I’d love to meet some of the people who run that network and ask them why they think so little of sports fans.

I can't decide if i'm rooting for the cubs or brewers here.

I’m hoping for a series split (I guess), well as long as the Cards keep winning. But since this is game one, I’m not sure if I want the cubbies to hold on or to see the brewers come back, crush their spirit, and mute that motherfucking song before they play it.

Then again, it’d be nice if the Brewers and the Cards could sweep out the weekend and simply bury the cubbies, but thats probalby not going to happen.
