Baseball's back. Pujols still rocks. Carpenter still pitches like Carpenter.
AND OMG Dan and Al are pimping out Brett Wallace as a third basemen. [/system malfuction]

Yeah...
we won’t see The Walrus until 2010…

But 'he's not ready'...
And TLR won’t play him if he does come up…
'Stay Thursty My Friends' - Tony LaRussa
I heard an interview with Moz
this afternoon. He basically said they weren’t gonna bring up Walrus unless he had a place to play regularly. They didn’t want to add him to the roster just to have him sitting the bench.
Makes sense to me.

What's all this "let them have the leadoff man on in every inning" all about, Carpenter?
Any idiot would know that.
Just read the article at Fangraphs...
on moving Pujols to third.
Is his elbow issue fixed or not? Didn’t he have a procedure this past winter?
Elbow not fixed
Not sure why Erik overlooked that. He had a nerve operation on that elbow, but not the major surgery he’s going to need.
He did.
But it wasn’t a permanent solution.
A very invasive surgery could be needed IF he ever completely blows it out.

When he was getting on base, his base-running decisions were abysmal.

So I've been thinking about how Lugo could help the team, and I have an idea
Get Lugo, try him in center. Shift Pujols to second base, try Rasmus at first. Skippy goes over to third base. Thurston becomes a backup OF. Ankiel goes to the bullpen, Trever Miller to the rotation. Pineiro becomes the hitting coach, and Hal McRae takes over as the GM. Mo becomes the third base coach. Oquendo becomes the manager. LaRussa plays right field. Ludwick to the bench. Pujols ascends to heaven to sit on his father’s right hand.
What do you guys think?

I mean, it’s a 6-0 game, why not bring in Kinney or one of the other “lesser” relievers and save your go-to guys for the rest of the weekend?
It was like the other night when Tony brought in Kinney with a 4 run lead and yanked him because 2 guys got on with 1 out. If you don’t have the confidence in those guys with huge leads, how can you ever expect them to contribute anything of substance?
