Boo Continental Airlines

I’m supposed to be going to the game tonight, but my girlfriend’s arriving flight is delayed more by an hour. So, instead, I’m at work, stalking the VEB game thread.

Anyways, go Cards and go Carp. Need a good start in fantasy.

on the other hand (unrelated side bar to ensue)… mcbride gets hosed… goes in for shoulder surgery, expected to be out 3-4 weeks… fire lose him for the rest of the season

that blows

Cameron slid into second, past the bag, and interrupted the fielders ability to make the throw. Granted, Braun would have beaten it, hence part of the argument from Macha. Since the force out was completed plus interference, there were 2 outs on the double play.

weird story

i was in a caribou coffee joint last night & i was bs’in with the dude making my drink. and there’s a starbucks across the street, so i ask him if they ever play pranks on each other, or if they run into each other in the parking lot do they talk trash to them or have any fights like they did in Anchorman. you know, just bs’ing & trying to be funny like i always am with everyone.

well the dude get’s all serious & says, “NO. the coffee biz is serious & we don’t even talk to them or even acknowledge their existence. we could get fired for even talking to them”

i was like ooookkaaay. i couldn’t get out of there fast enough.

Not sure.

But I’m sure he also thinks he’s a Major-League caliber player…sooooo, not sure his thought patterns are legit.

Died from a heart attack after a Cardinals Game, his last words were “Thank you, Joe Thurston”

Beautiful epitaph

though I think a simple “thank you, Joe Thurston” would speak volumes.

La Russa should've

squeezed with Thursty.

Hard to squeeze

with a lefty hitter… all the pitcher has to do is pitch-out to foil the play.

The RH hitter

stands on the third-base side of home plate, so throwing a pitch-out wide to the first-base side of the plate is counter-productive against the suicide squeeze.

A bunt in that situation

had to have been better than him swinging the bat right? I mean I know bunts are bad and nobody likes free outs….but joe Fucking thurston…….
