There have been many rumors that the Cardinals are looking at two players, the Blue Jays' Roy Halladay and the A's Matt Holliday. The Cards can only afford one, unfortunately, because of money and the fact that the team's minor league system does not have much depth. My question to you is: who would you rather have - a great pitcher and sure starter in Halladay or someone who can hit behind Pujols in Holliday?
Personally, I would rather have Roy. I believe that Halladay could play a bigger part in the playoff run than Holliday, and the Cards could sure use pitching. I would much rather see Halladay in the rotation than Wellemeyer, who's been getting knocked around all season long. It would be nice to have some protection for Albert, but given that Holliday is a free agent after the season (and you'd have Halladay around for a longer period of time), I'll take Roy over Matt.
