McClouth Traded to Braves
Geez, will the Pirates EVER attempt to win?
And I guess Barton didn't quite work out for the Braves . . .

That's a good deal for the Pirates, but not as good as it could have been
They have McCutcheon coming up to the big leagues to replace McClouth I’m sure, and got a very good outfield prospect in Gorkys Hernandez (good speed and defense, good on base ability).
I wonder why they didn’t ask for one of the Braves better pitching prospects though. Atlanta was desperate for an OF bat.

Yeah
I feel they went for three pretty good prospects instead of maybe getting two really awesome ones. Still, I dunno if they’re giving up Hanson, Medlen etc. in this deal – and the two guys they DID give up both look like good prospects. I don’t think the Bucs did too bad here.
Because chicks dig the intentional base on balls.

then why
did they sign him to a three year deal only MONTHS ago?
They weren’t desperate to get rid of him, or they would have never signed him. Unless they purely signed him to a decent deal to make him good trade bait . . . which if that’s true, is one of the lowest of the low.
On with the (good) youth movement!
