A Cub Fans Response to Cubs Legend (sarcasm) Mark DeRosa

Hey Cards fans....I know..101 years etc etc.  But actually I don't hate the Cards.  I have always respected what they bring to the table and how can anyone not enjoy the force that is Albert.  As we all know the Cubs are pretty awful and uninspired this season....not to mention Cubs fans obsession with DeRosa, so Sunday night I did the only thing I could do to make me laugh and hopefully you did too.  Here is the link to my post over at bleedcubbieblue.com.

Feel free to post over there and hit the rec. button.  Enjoy DeRo...he is a pretty solid player and a great guy to cheer for...however, my cheering days are over...check out my pictures and especially the last picture I fondly call, "The Ghost of DeRo."

funny stuff, hombre

we had similarly disproportionate reactions over here when jimmy baseball ended up on the cubbies last year. none quite so destructively melodramatic as yours, though. to anyone but the brewers winning the central!

How depressing is it being you? Is it closer to being a lifelong cubs fan or being born without lips? - Janitor

dont get me wrong BLW

I can appreciate the humor from your end, but I have to counter the bad mojo with some classic cubs mojo.

So I guess that nobody thinks this is funny now...

With DeRosa’s injured wrist and all….the shirt burn curse?

oh, no, i still think it's hilarious.

although i’m not very superstitious. so i suppose i should instead say: IT IS ALL YOUR FAULT. there, the GOB have been appeased.

You may have burned your DeRosa shirt

But you can never take away the fact that the Cubs haven’t won a WS in 100 years +

clearly, this is the only sensible response to the departure of a player, traded

at the whim of his GM to a second team, then traded without his consent again to a division rival.

what was derosa supposed to do? retire?

if you need to laugh, rent blazing saddles.

the truth can't hurt you, it's just like the dark/ it scares you witless, but in time you see things clear and stark -- macmanus

Ahhh....rent blazing saddles eh?

Outside of Caddy Shack…I don’t think watching a movie that came out 6 years before I was born will get as many laughs as taking my DeRosa shirt outside and burning it. if YOU need to laugh you should go watch “The Hangover.” Enough said. Plus 1 me.

you should have just dyed that shirt red (j/k)

the best part is the comment over at bcb about you can burn the blue shirt, but the Derosa #7 remains

Yes

The name and the number, both in RED, remained.
BTW, what is it with all the lawyers on SBN? We have a bunch at VEB.

born Dodger blue, now dyed Cardinals red

There are a lot at LGT too.

i love the fact that

everything “cubs” about that jersey burned, and the “derosa” remained. So perfect an end to such a classless act.
