That is the way to not get traded...
"Rasmus doesn't hit lefties. Instead he bashes them over the head with their own bleeding arm he just raced to the mound to rip off before the ball arrives to the plate. He then smashes that baseball with the pitchers bloody arm over the wall because he does not hit lefites he bashes them." Ted Lilly
Luddy just looks helpless out there.
ASB can’t come soon enough. Someone needs to find out what’s wrong with this guy.
I'm wondering if he can get it together and have a strong second half
it would be nice to make us all forget about his rotten start to this season… maybe he will pull a glaus (even though glaus was ok minus the homers)

How many times must Joe...
A) Make an out, or…
B) Bunt it foul…
before he stops trying to bunt for a hit? He simply can’t do it…
V, b.
Pitching around Thursty
with the intent of picking him off?
and he sweats grit

This could be fun.
Does Dickey still fool around with the knuckleball?
Shouldn't the Twins have left the LH pitcher in for Rasmus?
Is Tony managing for them as well this game?

that was a really low strike on raz
Baseball's concept of athletes is all wrong. Batter cannot walk with 4 balls.
Boo DPs. Horray Albert hitting with 2 men on.

R.A. Dickey has no UCL
That’s cool.
VivaElBirdos...Scoring less, but more frequently since approximately 1903.

GD says Raz left 6 on base today. He had a rough one.

I love Colby and he should definitely be in the lineup every day...
but I have to say I’m looking forward to the consistency that will come with more experience at this level. The extremely hot streaks followed by prolonged slumps can be frustrating…

alright there's one. Now let's get Mauer!
Also, I was just browsing stats and Pujols’ OPS now up to 1.173. The guy is not that far from OPSing 1.200 for an entire half-season. Take out Barroid and that kind of production hasn’t been seen for the most part since Ruth, Gehrig, Williams…just absurd
Frank Thomas was an under-appreciated hitter, IMO. He really was one of the all-time greats.

it is just a matter of time before the cards start sucking and the cubs start winning

definitely a situation where a scorer would be within his rights to hand it to
McClellan. I guess scorers have just forgotten about that rule.
kinney getting out of that jam without giving up any runs
was pretty awesome, though. granted he had some good defense behind him.

I'm really starting to fear how mediocre we are when albert doesn't hit
God help us if something ever happened to him

i was thinking
That no matter how much albert wants we have to pay him.
Even at something ridiculous like 60 mil a year you could fire every position player and get replacement level players and still be competitive.
I’ve been hoping that one of the reasons that we haven’t been aggressively pursuing players is because 2010 is looming and all that money is going to have to go to albert.
I’m pretty sure at 30 mil a year he’d still be ‘cheap’.
I really hope Jo-el pitches well again tomorrow...
because I’m none too excited about this Giants series coming up…
Lincecum vs. Thompson
Johnson vs. Carpenter
Cain vs. Wainwright
Zito vs. ? (Surely not Wellemeyer again)
So that’s basically two aces and two lefties that are just average ebough to make the Cardinal offense look foolish. At least Carp and Wainwright are going in the middle two games…
V, b.
just saw the highlights on SC, and all i have to say is
Albert Pujols is ridiculous
It kind of sounds like he’s [Duncan] just running around like a puppy out there – full speed ahead in random directions. – BTown Birds Fan
I'm probably imagining it...
but it seems like the Cubs and Brewers win more walk off games than any two teams in the league. Maybe it’s just because the Cardinals NEVER do…
V, b.
Probably a few months. Depends on if the Cards gave them a choice and how recently the PTBNL was drafted.
Decrease runs scored?
Maybe.
Decrease winning? Never seen that proven.
