Game 73 Open Thread- 24th June, 2009

St. Louis Cardinals at New York Mets, Jun 24, 2009 7:10 PM EDT

TPFKAPK        Nieve

I can feel something

But what it is I'm unsure

Is it momentum?

In addition to our standard nightly haiku, I also bring you a response to my morning query of a proper bit of poetry for Pineiro, courtesy of reader Phredbird:

The cardinal pitcher named Jo-El

Is not a guy you would know well

But when he faces a Met

You know how to bet

And Card fans smile like it’s No-el!

I understand the IBB theory

but not sure if I agree with it yet this year. Failure probably just sticks out more than success, but I can guarantee you that if I was a manager, Pujols would never see pitches with 1B open.

you should go back and reread chuckb's article.

if you’re more of a “show-me” type — sorry — then you should read sleepy’s comment looking at how it worked out for managers who had that choice.

Here is my TLR roster complaint of the day

Why not bat lil’ Dunc #2 and Colby #4 instead? Dunc can at least draw a walk occasionally (and forced Mets to pitch to APu last night), and Colby provides the best protection behind APu at this point.
