Just finished some really awesome sushi. Robots are big sushi eaters if you didn't know.
Between Joel Pineiro and Ryan Franklin this season, I feel like Albert when he whiffed at my fastball Livian's fastball.

I've been out of town the last few days but
how does the team have ‘no need for Glaus if he can’t play 3rd’?
I can think of atleast 3 games over the last 2 weeks that we needed a power bat option off the bench.
by Hardcore Legend on Jun 23, 2009 9:34 PM EDT reply actions
You say that now, but in the middle of a 6 run game when you need a mop up guy
you’ll regret not having a billion pitchers.
by TheBirds on Jun 23, 2009 9:36 PM EDT up reply actions 2 recs
I would say
because why would you pay a PH that much when you could deal him to a team that needs a 1B/DH for a halfway decent prospect?
Albert Pujols is ridiculous.
you can do that?
I didn’t know there was a market for rentals that may or may not be healthy enough to play.
If he can hit
he can replace Ankiel anytime after the 3rd inning.
One less Ankiel at-bat a game is ok by me.
by Hardcore Legend on Jun 23, 2009 9:38 PM EDT up reply actions
they're saying he is ok swinging the bat
but can’t throw from 3rd to 1st right now. That’s why there’s talk of him becoming a 1B/DH option.
Albert Pujols is ridiculous.
If we've learned anything over the last 4 years
no one is going to give us anything of real value for anything we have. The best we could hope for was one injured 3B for another injured 3B.

where do they play him to try and deal him..since he cant throw it is a bit of a problem
I can't believe i gave up a homerun to that punch and judy hitter-major league 2
pinch hit
Why can’t he pinch hit late in games? It’s not like we don’t have enough hybrid OF/MIF’ers on the team to fill in afterwards.
In blow outs, he can play 1B for Albert.
by Hardcore Legend on Jun 23, 2009 9:39 PM EDT up reply actions
true
if he’ll do it, it takes a special guy to a have the mentality to PH, and B take that as his role on the team
I can't believe i gave up a homerun to that punch and judy hitter-major league 2
DH him in triple A
and let him spot start at 1B and PH if he tears up AAA
"I usually don’t read other peoples sigs." -Cuttah
Piniero reminds me of a sinkerball version of Wakefield.
If he can go 15-15 with a 4 ERA then I would be very happy with him as a number 4 starter.
"Rasmus doesn't hit lefties. Instead he bashes them over the head with their own bleeding arm he just raced to the mound to rip off before the ball arrives to the plate. He then smashes that baseball with the pitchers bloody arm over the wall because he does not hit lefites he bashes them." Ted Lilly
Albert
Maybe the reason he takes the throw on the dugout side is to avoid getting spiked as the runner crosses the bag. Hasn’t he had a couple incidents like that. Perhaps he prefers the risk.
Just win
how is a 63mph curveball even possible?
you have to throw the ball hard enough to get some rpms to make it happen, right?

I hope Hayes is smarter than that.

It kind of sounds like he’s [Duncan] just running around like a puppy out there – full speed ahead in random directions. – BTown Birds Fan

vaughn is always saying that, and the cat usually responds that colby gets way better jumps and rick is always running the wrong way for the first couple steps
let me see if i can find the clip
It kind of sounds like he’s [Duncan] just running around like a puppy out there – full speed ahead in random directions. – BTown Birds Fan
ok
because it seems to be an ongoing debate between the two. i love that show but doug vaughn’s opinions on the cardinals are terrible.
were both right, but you were more right. my memory sucks
gawd i’m old.
Vaughn goes off here loving Ank & it’s shocking because he said he’s never seen Ank make a bad play in center.
linky linky
It kind of sounds like he’s [Duncan] just running around like a puppy out there – full speed ahead in random directions. – BTown Birds Fan
yeah.
because when he barely gets there and has to dive to catch it, that’s a better play than when colby gets to the spot and waits two seconds for it reach his glove
He makes all the plays!
I either heard that conversation or a similar one. Dumbness.
Albert Pujols does not have "down" years. He has "5.7 WAR" years.
no doubt
i thought doug was smarter than that. jim did say there he’d rather have Ank in center because he’s better at it too, but Colby gets better jumps. and doug goes, “well he may get the jumps but he doesn’t make the plays Ank does.” unbelievable.
It kind of sounds like he’s [Duncan] just running around like a puppy out there – full speed ahead in random directions. – BTown Birds Fan
i was probably steaming enough at that point
that i missed jim say that he’d prefer ank in center. that’s just absurd. doug rips on colby almost as much as al does. it makes no sense to me. i can’t believe no ones called him on it.
i download the mp3s and listen to them on the ipod when i work, so i never actually listen to the show live or else i’d probably have called in by now.
i don't catch it live that much either
doug is like many Cards fans when it comes to Ank. he can do no wrong & is the greatest player ever. they see Colby as this punk kid trying to steal his job, and they resent him for that.

Yeah but he's good
It’s the shitty LHP’s that always doom us.

Touche
I sadly still like our chances better against Lee or Santana than, say, Jorge de la Rosa

It's always kinda weird when you get off work before the game ends
and then you find out who won in a game thread

How come every time we succeed the east coast media tries to smack us down?
This guy rants on Tony. As far as I am concerned the only people that have that right are Cards fans.
How is Tony responsible for players choices? Maybe he should have fungoed their heads in that is why he is scum huh?
"Rasmus doesn't hit lefties. Instead he bashes them over the head with their own bleeding arm he just raced to the mound to rip off before the ball arrives to the plate. He then smashes that baseball with the pitchers bloody arm over the wall because he does not hit lefites he bashes them." Ted Lilly
what a fucking douche
i get you point dude, you don’t have to yell every word
either way, fuck off. what’s he supposed to do? bench mcgwire and canseco for using a substance not even banned by mlb?

Dude needs to go back to his Sham-Wow gig.
Decrease runs scored?
Maybe.
Decrease winning? Never seen that proven.

wow. well,
i certainly wouldn’t mind not ever hearing that guy talk about anything again. he has a voice made for a vacuum. y’know, where sound doesn’t carry?
some of his points are interesting, but his method of delivery could use some work.

went up it seems
Fangraphs has him at 2.97 this morning
"People call me El Hombre," Pujols said. "But only Stan is the Man."
It's a rough day for you when the opposing pitcher matches your hit total.
They say that it's never too late, but you don't get any younger...
This will become a forgettable performance
when Pineiro is giving up 12 hits in his next appearance. I’ll be saying to myself “Why the JF$#($#3 is this guy still in the rotation? When was the last time he even one a game!”
Because, that’s who Joel Pineiro is. He’s a guy that occasionally has a game like this to ‘balance’ things out just enough for you to say “How does Pineiro have a 2.91 FIP?”
And God Bless Him for it.

I find the cubs fan in the shot
during the walk-off throwing a tantrum hilarius
Chuck Norris doesn't need a bat.
he just roundhouse kicks the ball out of the park.
Totally irrelevant to Cardinals, but....
Does this guy call them the “D-Bags” or D-Backs around 0:39?
I know what I heard.
Now lets see if anyone ever sees this…
R.P.O.F.Y.M.
oh yes, he said dbags

He did indeed.
I’ve also noticed that several of their announcers pronounce Pujols as pool-hose.
