Game 71 Open Thread: Cardinals at Mets

| Wellemeyer | Redding |
| 6-6, 5.36 | 0-2, 6.27 |
Now that we've established a little cross-town empathy by importing a Mets blogger it's time to give it a workout: Carlos Beltran is a late addition to the DL, where he'll join every recognizable Met short of David Wright and Johan Santana.
It's hard to believe that Tim Redding was once a vaguely promising Astros prospect; since then he has been traded for Paul Quantrill and pitched a full season and a half in total anonymity for the Washington Nationals. His peripherals in 2008 are pretty similar to Wellemeyer's in 2009, which is why we're all justifiably concerned.

How dare he not dive on the warning track!
Everyone knows you have to dive on balls hit over your head to dead CF. Rick and Edmonds played the RIGHT way…Rasmus needs to learn to showboat more often.
Seriously though, Rasmus made a great catch. What makes him a great defensive player is he stays calm and composed during plays like this. He doesn’t rush…
