their offense is just the same as it was in 2008 when they won 97 games

except they’ve added bradley, who isn’t working out but who IS a quality hitter, and lost DeRo. They got lucky in 08 but I don’t buy that they suddenly suck. They’ve lost 2 more games than us (I think, and 1 more in about 45 mins), and everyone was saying they were the best team in the NL in the spring.

did we ever find out the

real reason for his release? was it really perfomance or some type of insubordination or what?

i think you can assume it’s not performance related.

Ever since Wallace left

it’s not as much fun going to watch the games now. Jones is really the only guy I care to see. Lynn maybe too, but I haven’t been to one of his starts yet.

Question

If somebody hits a homerun for us now, is that an act of selfishly piling up meaningless stats in a game that we’re losing anyway?

What i'd like to know...

is what the hell is wrong with our GM/Ownership.

I mean, the Cardinals have been ABYSMAL against lefties for how many years in a row now? and yet, they NEVER address the issue in the off season. Then again, they don’t really address any issues in the off season.

sign guys who mash lefties?

even if it’s just platoon players, look for players with great splits against LHP and sign them.

and besides, all you are mentioning are impact bats

there are countless role players who have good splits against lefties that could be platooned and acquired cheaply either by trade or free agency.
