Hope the Brewers are as effective getting off the mat once we’re out of Minnesota as you guys have been since the Brewers/Cards series ended.

“forget” how to hit. He had wrist surgery last year. He had a weight- and energy-sapping flu bug. He just had wrist surgery again. Wrist surgery for a hitter is like shoulder surgery for a pitcher. It’s gonna take a season or so to bounce back physically.

Hit that one pretty much dead-center. Bad break.

And these announcers need to learn to watch the damn outfielders to know where the ball is going.

That, there, was as much of an IBB situation as you'll ever get

Almost any team would do that in that situation with the opposing teams’ best hitter up.

They say that it's never too late, but you don't get any younger...

yup

he should be IBB’d every single time he gets to the plate. Even in non-clutch situations. There’s nobody else in the entire lineup that’s intimidating at all.

2 of 3 aint bad

but I have a big fear that if our offense doesn’t show up in Milwaukee, we’ll be in for another bad series. Milwaukee is going to score runs, unlike the Cubs/Royals

Yeah, I was off unfortunately

I’m pretty annoyed he was DLed to begin with, this roster already has some dead spots on it, and even if you want to be careful, it would have been nice to see him PH today.

Debbie is right. We need another bat. Luds is a start but unless Wallace is gonna sit down to field at 3rd bring him up.

Wow how can you not PH for captain clutch

in the 7th inning with the tying run in scoring position and 2 outs while facing a lefty

he just roundhouse kicks the ball out of the park.

Ankiel never should have faced Bale

that’s bad managing, feeding into the traditional ‘hero’ complex Tony tries to get out of his players.

Ankiel didn’t even play rehab games and in his first game back they ask him to do something he is completely inept at doing ‘hit LHP’.

Honestly...

The Cubs series was pretty bad offensively, but the Royals are one of the best Run Prevention teams in the league, and we put up 5 against them twice. I don’t think the Crew’s pitching will hold up as well as it did last series, and ours should definitely be better, especially with Carp and Wainwright pitching. I think we could/should take at least 2 from them.

by Ferociousaurus on May 24, 2009 4:56 PM EDT reply actions

Yeah, it stinks to waste the effort of Joel today.

Really the defense behind him needed to just be average, and I think he gets a win.

In the end, lost the game because a ball hit as well as you can hit it didn’t drop. I can kinda accept that.

Just watched this game now on MLBtv

I have to say that, for some reason, that was, for me, our most frustrating loss of the year. More great pitching and the bats just looked appalling. Once they took the bat out of Albert’s hands you just couldn’t see anyone else making decent contact. We really look a mediocre team at the moment, except for the pitching. Holding KC to 3 runs when Brian f’ing Bannister is starting (although I’ll admit he pitched rather well, especially against the lefties we loaded the lineup with) we’ve really got to win.

Please don’t get swept by the brewers again, boys…

Because chicks dig the intentional base on balls.

Duncan

clobbered that final pitch. It just landed in a glove.

Two bad defensive plays and fan interference ruined Piniero’s start. Baseball is cruel.
