When I first saw Martis' ERA before the game
I had the thought in the back of my mind that he’d have a good game and Pineiro wouldn’t.
But, on the other hand, congrats Colby!

"I remember once talking to one guy on the Cardinals and asking him what Pujols was like as a teammate. He said something that’s really special, if you think about it. He said: "Albert is so good that you feel like you let him down when you screw up." I thought that had to be the ultimate line that could ever be said about a ballplayer. I build my baseball team around that ballplayer."

I'm going back to New Orleans, to wear that ball and chain

We’re losing to the Nationals. I wouldn’t be in the mood to play any tricks.

they have to win 1 every now and then
or they would be DFA’d from the league

I hope Albert gets a chance to at least tie this game with 1 swing.
that combined w/ the Rasmus homerun makes this game semi Watchable.
Or the guys Washington has that are WORSE than Kip and Julian

Any doubt we'd be winning this game if Albert started?
I’ve got to assume he makes that catch Dunc missed.
why?
there are like 5 people sitting in the section he hit it. I bet they can track down the person with the ball.
* sarcasm might be involved in this comment
Hell he could probably walk up there between innings and just pick it up off the floor.

That was entirely on purpose....
Woo! Step 1.
I once shot a man just to see him die...then I got distracted and missed it.
Let's get Pineiro the win he deserved here

Really? Khalil here? I'd almost rather see Ryan...
Less likely to see a left field pop-up.

how about Pujols?
I mean: really? I think TLR may be hiding an injury to him
he won't PH unless he can tie or go ahead

I could support that platform.
But would Pujols even see a pitch with first open?

great play by zimmerman

Even with the great game by the Nats pitcher
It is defense that is the deciding factor in this game.
Great plays by the Nats, missed plays by the Cards.

Dibble keeps calling the hr ball that Pineiro threw a curveball
looked like a fastball to me

that makes sense
def was not a curve ball like Dibble said! Dibble is pretty abnoxious

i hate doing player of the game before game is over
what if colby hits a homer with skippy on to make it a one run game and we go on to pull it out….they’ve already given the award away
I think walters' stuff confused GD
His third pitch was 86 MPH and it said it was a changup, but his other 4 pitches were 87 MPH and were fastballs

Companys must think Cards viewers really like stupid jingles.
Every game on FSN is saturated with them.
it would be The Hawk
the other 2 arent on the 40 man roster

Good Point
Plus neither of the others would have to be placed on the 40 man roster this Winter. So bringing them up now means we lose someone else in the Rule V Draft.
man. Schumaker is in some kind of slump
was batting .300 before yesterdays game. now, nice pretty .266

Oh well, we can chalk this one up to no Pujols in the lineup
Win tomorrow and you still take 3 of 4 on the road, which is great, regardless of who you are playing
MyBrute - Where tiny gladiators rule the internets
I disagree
3 of 4 is great. a .750 winning percentage is always great. I don’t care if they are the Nationals, they are still likely going to take 1 game of a 4 game series regardless of who they are playing
MyBrute - Where tiny gladiators rule the internets
True
Sweeping a four game series is hard to do.
Duncan
but Pineiro still shouldn’t have grooved one to the big donkey

It's funny that dcfc and Sleepy have different, but similar-sounding answers to this question

Colby's Home Run
So, I couldn’t watch the game and nobody has clips of the home run anywhere that I can see. Does anyone know where I could find that home run?
Just heard they pushed back the start time
by a half hour.
The thought that I have is that the season is over. And that everybody in the game; a fan, a coach, a player, a manager, front office, scouts...surrender. They say, "that's enough," especially after a game like this. But then Christmas comes, New Years, contracts are signed, trades are made, free agents are signed; and then baseball, like the rose beneath the April snow will force it's way to the front again. And we'll have the fever once more.

Does anyone know
Why Kmac is pitching for Lohse? All I’ve heard is precautionary measures, but it is still a little worrying.

My guess is because of the rain
Why throw Lohse for 3 innings only to have it rained out?
Lohse will start tomorrow I’m sure.
