| T.R. Lilly | Pineiro |
| 5-2, 3.27 | 4-3, 4.17 |
I'm unpleasantly surprised to see neither Greene make the start against the left-hander, but at least the lefty in at second isn't Skip Schumaker.
Fun fact: if Joel Pineiro's current strikeout rate were his ERA, he would be an end-of-the-year contender for the Cy Young award.

I almost kind of sort of like it, but he needs to raise his OBP….
Molina 4th, well, at least he doesn’t strike out much. What I like about this is that the four most productive hitters in the lineup are at least consecutive. And Rasmus definitely belongs @ #2….
and for the 2nd day in a row, the pitcher hits 8th. We should keep track of these…..I’d love to try to figure out why TLR is doing this only some of the time this year, it’s La Russa, there has to be some sort of percentage he’s playing….
Boog, Thursty and Barden in the SAME lineup?
How could I not be pumped?!?

Excitement for Stav is a given. I've got a Stav infection.
He just wasn’t included in the group because he’s not a mediocre middle-infielder often found in the 2009 edition of our mediocre middle-infielder revue.

you guys are catching us at a great time
although I guess you’re going to face Carpenter on Wed.
We lost 2 of 3 to Cincy, 2 of 3 to the Pirates (ARRGH), and then got swept by the Brewers. We look awful right now. The offense is anemic, the starters aren’t getting out of the fifth inning, and the 8-man bullpen is getting misued and overexposed. TLR’s head doesn’t seem to be screwed on straight recently; even Pujols has had an iffy couple weeks. Wainwright finally got straightened out and started pitching like himself again, so of course we got shut out in that game. We’ve got guys playing out of position all over the diamond, and 2/3 of our starting outfield went on the DL. And then, yeah, we’re down a pretty good third baseman too.
We’re a mess. Good luck, but I hope we beat you guys 30-0 tonight.
Well,
you guys are worse off than the cubs, so I expect you guys to win 4-0…
Our only offense with this lineup are in the first 3 spots…
although Lee & Bradley are showing signs of turning it around our 4-8 hitters tonight are as follows.
BA OBP SLG
4 .226 .300 .396
5 .195 .333 .364
6 .204 .307 .380
7 .204 .324 .269
8 .217 .270 .289
we are due to put up 10 runs against a lefty
and then have Carpenter and Wainwright shut down the the baby bears the following days. RIGHT?
Haven't we been due to put up 10 runs against a lefty since like 1989?

Nice debut for Izzy last night
for the Rays. Then he was the answer to today’s trivia question on the Cardinals’ page-a-day calendar: “who has the most career saves for the Cardinals?”
This did bring about an interesting question from my former co-workers – who holds the record for most career blown saves for the Cardinals?
I know Sutter and Lee Smith have a ton of career blown saves, but they were both well-traveled and may have spread the joy around (like some terrible seasons by Sutter for the Cubs, for instance). Anybody know for sure?

Or does anyone else find the promos for the Frank Opinion show inappropriate for baseball games (which are at least in theory, family friendly)?
The one they played was a semi-risque joke, and the one before that was him just saying “Butthead” over and over.
At the very least, they show a real lack of class…
That show is nothing but three hours of crankiness
and sound effects. And their old people sexual innuendo gives me the creeps.
I’m also kind of offended that they use the phrase “your KTRS Cardinals” in a lot of their promos/

Yeah
That, coupled with Rolen’s .318/.381/.462/.843 line make me ache inside. I realize that he’s never going to be the .900+ OPSer of MV3 lore, but he is looking good this young season for a red hot Blue Jays club. That, coupled with the seemingly inevitable Glaus injury makes it difficult to behold the Go-Go-Joe/BB platoon.

I got you, I read “I don’t like the fielding of BR” LMFAO
then when BR hustles around the bases like that, it makes putting KG in even harder….hopefully BR can keep that up and be the new mini-Eckstein…..
I dont really like Kahlil in the lineup
if he was hitting I’d be ok but since hes not put in a good defensive sub at least. plus i bet BR can hit better than him right now
