Game 3 Overflow

Pre-programmed for your enjoyment.

Only doing one of these, so if it gets ugly, I would greatly appreciate if one of the other mods would toss up another, as I won't be around this evening.

Edit: bumping this up a bit. The rest of the sentiment remains. And considering the ugliness that has been Wellemeyer thus far, this could turn into quite a bitchfest.

Yikes

This game has been an example of the pitching staff trying** to give the offense no shot at winning the game. You simply can’t let runs bleed across the plate when you’re behind. Hell, you can’t let that happen anyway. It’s all about hanging zeros, and that isn’t happening right now.

BTW nice dead-pan Mr. Dan regarding the Phillies/Braves slugfest.

**Obviously I’m not implying they want to lose…Merely that what they are doing is counterproductive to winning a baseball game.

the more I think he was right to run on that one. He had the play in front of him. The ball was coming at him. There was no cutoff man. There was not a man at second base where he was. He had a full head of steam going forward. It took a perfect throw to “get him.” The ump had to get screened by the 3rd baseman’s leg to get the call wrong. In other words…not a bad play.
