You just can't put a young guy in a situation like that
you just can’t. It isn’t fair to him and it isn’t fair to me. I’d rather just have 11 guys on the roster total than make a rookie have to get his first hit in his first game.

We are hoping Motte can be successful, and if closing really is a mental game then the fans aren’t doing him any favors. Should they be dissapointed? Absolutely.
