Game 22 Post Game
That was a strange game. Pull up a chair, pour yourself a glass of your favorite beverage, and enjoy the sweet taste of victory. The last over flow was over 1000 post, so this is for everyone who's on a slow connection, or other issues like the poor folks who use IE. I'm trying to come up with 75 words, so uh,,,um,,,how was your day? How was work? How are the wife/husband/life partner/bed buddy/ and the kids? Seen any good movies lately? Heard any good music? How's the weather? River seams to be up. As anyone seen my shoes? Where are my shoes?

third run scored on a weird play
Bonifacio reaches on force attempt, missed catch error by shortstop Theriot, assist to first baseman DLee. Amezaga scores. Helms to 3rd.

how can somebody have an assist
when no out was recorded? That doesn’t make any sense….
by nota bene on Apr 30, 2009 11:06 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Error scoring is weird
Lee can’t be blamed for the SS’s boner. Kind of like how a strikeout on a wild pitch where the runner reaches still counts as a strikeout.

Those are each play.
I think. Go here and click on Play Logs. Each play is given a WPA score.
Classic underachiever.

Leverage Index
I’m not sure of the glossary definition but it’s basically how much each out means in any given situation.
ie … It’s more important to get the out with the bases loaded and 2 out than it would be with bases empty 2 out

(well and after a blackhawks goal too)

the awesome thing about this
is that this game (along with yesterdays 10-0 whooping) makes piniella look better, as a manager, in the eyes of those people who think that “wins above pythagorean record” has anything to do with managerial skill…

Marlins' pitcher tomorrow
Graham Taylor. I’ll never complain about our 5th starter depth at Memphis again.
At least it looks like the Cubs will close April at .500

I hope they can be relied upon over a full season….I think they can but I think both of them are going to have some more growing pains at some point….

thank goodness
I’ve always liked the idea of strikeout pitchers out of the STL bullpen following the Dave Duncan pitch-to-contact starters….if those two guys can keep it together and the starters don’t revert to the 07-08 habits of struggling to get thru 5 innings we are going to be looking pretty good at the end of the season….

is limited to just September, then I can see him being a crucial part of the 2009 Cardinals.

retired navy captain, white hispanic type from puerto rico, ladies man, etc. he doesn’t drink dos equis or fight ninjas, though he did photoshop his own face onto a couple of the dos equis magazine ads and hang them up in his cubicle. in case you were wondering.
