Game 22 Post Game

That was a strange game. Pull up a chair, pour yourself a glass of your favorite beverage, and enjoy the sweet taste of victory. The last over flow was over 1000 post, so this is for everyone who's on a slow connection, or other issues like the poor folks who use IE. I'm trying to come up with 75 words, so uh,,,um,,,how was your day? How was work? How are the wife/husband/life partner/bed buddy/ and the kids? Seen any good movies lately? Heard any good music? How's the weather? River seams to be up. As anyone seen my shoes? Where are my shoes?

The last four games have been pretty, well, I wouldn’t say poor exactly, but less than impressive, with the offense swinging at everything (except Duncan, really). Yet they’ve won 3 of them.

good pitching, high OBP offense (the Cards had 11 walks tonight!), and some iffy opponents. If we can keep the starting pitching healthy and consistently getting into the last third of games we will win a whole buncha games this year….

oh

so the batter hit the ball to Lee, who threw to The Riot, who muffed the catch. Got it….from the way that was worded I was thinking Riot dropped a pop up or something.

Leverage Index

I’m not sure of the glossary definition but it’s basically how much each out means in any given situation.

ie … It’s more important to get the out with the bases loaded and 2 out than it would be with bases empty 2 out

did anybody else hear that they play the same song for both the blackhawks and the bulls after a win?

(well and after a blackhawks goal too)

the awesome thing about this

is that this game (along with yesterdays 10-0 whooping) makes piniella look better, as a manager, in the eyes of those people who think that “wins above pythagorean record” has anything to do with managerial skill…

Marlins' pitcher tomorrow

Graham Taylor. I’ll never complain about our 5th starter depth at Memphis again.

At least it looks like the Cubs will close April at .500

I'm more concerned about Perez and Motte

I hope they can be relied upon over a full season….I think they can but I think both of them are going to have some more growing pains at some point….

Their last couple times out. They seem to be doing better

thank goodness

I’ve always liked the idea of strikeout pitchers out of the STL bullpen following the Dave Duncan pitch-to-contact starters….if those two guys can keep it together and the starters don’t revert to the 07-08 habits of struggling to get thru 5 innings we are going to be looking pretty good at the end of the season….

If the stretch

is limited to just September, then I can see him being a crucial part of the 2009 Cardinals.

about Roy Oswalt. I hate it when we face him, but he’s easily one of my favorite pitchers out there, and a class act on top of it.

i work with a guy who looks just like that

retired navy captain, white hispanic type from puerto rico, ladies man, etc. he doesn’t drink dos equis or fight ninjas, though he did photoshop his own face onto a couple of the dos equis magazine ads and hang them up in his cubicle. in case you were wondering.
