what do you want?

you know, i'm glad i didn't know this game was on wgn
i was just flipping through the channels & saw it was on. i’d rather listen to two deaf, mute & blind soccer announcers call this game than those clowns. it’s bad enough they are losing, but having to lose & listen to those idiots is just too much

good effort boys, i guess it’s good to see the starters, the bats, and the bullpen all suck in one day…
if this continues...
I blame Karros

I think all of our losses belong to Welley or the pen this year. Am I right?
I hope the rest of the majors dont follow the recipe for the Cubs win today. Dont let Pujols hit and pitch to everyone else.
if the rest of the majors let rich harden pitch 6 innings a game against us
we’ll lose a lot of games, i agree.

Is the most b.s. baseball stat I’ve ever seen. The guy took second on you, thats a stolen base. You don’t want him to get a stolen base? Don’t let him steal then.

Well, on the bright side of things
We’ve yet to lose* a series this season.
We won’t know about the last Cubs series until July 12.

But I’m worried about Wellemeyer. If he’s gonna regress so much that he’s this bad, you may want to keep Boggs in the rotation when/if Carp comes back

I dunno...
I got the impression from some of his comments last week that he is not comfortable pitching with extra rest. At the end he was looking a lot better. I’m going to wait until another craptastic start to get worried.

i've been worried since spring
dude hasn’t looked right since pitchers & catchers reported

no, he hasn't
but he looked better in Arizona, and really decent in his last two innings today. I wonder if it isn’t mental. Some of the interviews I’ve heard with him recently don’t reflect a lot of intensity. I guess I’m optimistic, but I think he can work it out.

maybe
but some of the comments he made after his first start bothered me…they were different than just being laid back. I got the impression he was kind of riding his success from last year….instead of fighting for a spot….could just be my read. I really like the guy and want to see him make it.
mel
Seriously TLR?
Using three pitchers in the last two innings of a (now) 10-3 game?
And we wonder why our bullpen gets uber depleated

damn
that kinda sucked.
Anyway, at least we won the series, and the Cubs are not looking like the powerhouse they were last year. And the GOB, for reasons known only to them, have decided to afflict the Cubs with the injury bug. So I’m not going to get too worked up over this, it’s one loss, it’s a long season, etc etc.
holy cow
switched over to mlb channel and it’s the 90s world series. I totally forgot McGee played for the As!
Also, kind of funny to watch Young Lou and Young Tony right after watching them today.

he hit it hard
the 3rd baseman was guarding the line, or it would have been a 2 RBI double.

I'm curious.
How many times does Rich Harden get to throw at Pujols before they throw him out of the game? Because I saw him throw at Pujols 3 times so it must be at least 4 times, right?
Did I ever tell you about the time Brasky and I went horseback riding, but there weren't any horses around? Anyway, Brasky throws a saddle on my back and rides me around Wyoming for three days. Well, wouldn't ya know it, my stamina increased with each day, and I develop tremendous leg muscles. So anyway, Brasky decides to enter me into the Breeders Cup under the name Turkish Delight. And Im running in second place, and I'm running, and I break my ankle. So anyway, they're about to shoot me. Then someone from the crowd yells out, God bless him, Dont shoot him, he's a human.
In the PA before he actually hit him
The first two pitches were aimed at his hip. He missed the next two outside for the old UIBB, but connected on the first pitch of the next PA.

yeah
that’s 4 times cardinals have been hit this year, compared to only one cub. I hate the idea of “throwing at” guys, but I’d be very happy to see Rich Harden nailed a couple of times.
- "I went at it and didn’t slow down, so it kind of bounced off me." -Lil' Dunc
I am not a fan of head-hunting,
but I think you have to retaliate when they hit your guy. Especially when they make a point of it, like Harden did. A tooth for a tooth type of thing, I think. I know Tony believes in being smart about it and all, but yesterday, when we were getting shelled anyway, I think he should have at least hit Soriano again.
First time for the finger wagging last week, even though I hate to see him get hit in the head and that was probably just wildness from Welley, next time because they intentionally hit AP.
I too, can’t believe that they didn’t toss Harden…… but I guess there was no warning issued after Soriano was hit?
