Ludwick on the bench again?!!?

What’s this guy have to do to prove he’s a starter? He’s outperforming Albert for Goodness sakes. Are we going to start rotating Chris Bumpkin at First base every couple of games to keep him sharp. Speaking of Bumpkin, nobody’s happier than I am that he’s hitting right now, but that guy is a complete goon. Cant catch, cant throw, cant run the bases. I dont follow any AL teams but there has to be someone on that side that needs a big left-handed thumper at DH. Anybody have some ideas on takers for this guy while he’s hitting. He could surely help us improve our staff somehow. We need to dump him while his value is sky high. If he’s going to keep hitting .380 I dont care if he even wears a glove, but that aint going to happen.

As long as he gets in sometime today, I'm not too upset

His history shows being nursed may not be the worst thing in the world, and having the best pinch hitter in the league tonight isn’t a bad thing (as long as he’s USED!)

That being said, Tony promised he’ll start the rest of the week and weekend.

Can’t say I am either.

Let Ras get a game in, let’s see if Ank can pull out two performances in a row, put Duncan under his proper splits against a righty. Then we’ll ride out the rest of the week/weekend with him in.

They mentioned that lefties are hitting nearly .450 against Maine this spring + start of the year.

by Evilfrog on Apr 22, 2009 7:57 PM EDT up reply actions

This lineup is almost exact to the lineup we put up against Snell, which was a every LHB on deck lineup to play against his splits.

I’d say it worked considering we put up a 9 spot that game. Didn’t realize Maine had that much of an issue vs LHB so far this year, so it just makes it better

by AdjustedExpectations on Apr 22, 2009 8:13 PM EDT up reply actions

maybe

they already know they want to keep Ludwick, so they want to figure out which of the other three to trade. I’m not saying this is a good strategy, but perhaps that’s an explanation

by Cards Fan in Chitown on Apr 22, 2009 7:30 PM EDT up reply actions

oh come on

for his size he takes the bases well, his arm is average for his position and his glove is slightly below average at best. considering he’s in full health, getting on base and beating the ball like a step child, I’ll take the one error and two or three ’if it was someone else that would have been caught" any day.

goon? uh, no. If he’s hitting .380 I want him on the Cardinals, thanks.

Found it

A video posted on several online video sites depicts an incident during a Korean baseball game. After the batter is apparently hit by a pitch, the batter charges the mound, grabs his right leg in his hands and starts jumping up and down on one foot. The pitcher mimics the behavior, and within seconds the “brawl” encompasses almost every player on the field jumping up and down on one leg while holding onto their other leg. According to MLB.com, the incident took place during a celebrity baseball game in Korea and was supposed to be a parody of baseball brawls.

I liked it.

Lets everyone know not to worry about Luddy, he will play 5 out of 6 games(psst…that means he’s a regular)

He talked about wanting to give Ank a chance to build off of last night. (Valid)

He said that Colby needs to play(Very Valid)

I will not always defend TLR, but I do believe that some people bitch about the lineup just to hear themselves bitch. Other days TLR deserves it. Beating a dead horse just makes you more tired though, and you don’t get anything out of it.

“Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that nobody ever asks for. Unreturnable, because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you’re stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down when there’s nothing else left to eat.
