100 pitch count games battling is worrisome.
But the odd thing is.. his stuff is downright electric. Just doesn’t seem like he has control on it yet. Reminds me a lot of the early ’07 Adam. (and we know how he finished that year).
Duncan in Wrigley is a catch 22, just keep hoping the bat wins over the glove.

3 Observations
1. I’m pretty sure it will be Freese or Boggs who gets sent down tommorrow when P.J. comes up, but I think it should be Ryan. He and Barden are redundant, and Barden is, you know, better. Even if Ryan is out of options, I’d be ok with sending Barden down. I’d rather having him batting leadoff against lefties, and to me, he looks like a better fielder.
2. We are now 4-2 against lefties. Duncan is showing some actual pitch awareness against lefties. If he could even be just a slightly below average defender, he would be a great player. As a physial therpay student, I see Duncan in the field and wonder if he seriously may have motor planning problems.
3. If A-Rod showed half as much passion for the game as Pujols does, people would like him.
Did you mean this
Even if Ryan is out of options, I’d be ok with sending Barden down

Franklin should be the one on the mound
w/ a 3-run lead in the 9th. He throws strikes. When it comes to a 1-run lead, that’s where I hope Perez/Motte can eventually come in. I’d rather have Perez/Motte be our Marmol – the strikeout guy – and Franklin be our Gregg (putting it in Cub terms).

nothing as far as i know
Chuck Norris doesn't need a bat.
he just roundhouse kicks the ball out of the park.

it was slightly off of the plate
but he should have tried to foul it off. Most umpires give a little room on strikes, so a pitch that is just off of the plate will be called a strike more often than not.

i really thought it was a ball inside
it was close, but i didn’t think he’d ring him up on it

it's so hard to tell from the video
it was a fabulous curve ball, and it was probably 30 degrees from straight when the catcher caught it. Might have moved 3-4 inches between where it crossed the plate and where it was caught. The CF video is very deceiving on a pitch like that.
You need the video from directly above, showing where it crosses the plate, to really know.
Then again, the umpire was SO awful today that it probably was a ball, just because he called it a strike. I was at work during the real-time game, but from watching the replay, I am amazed only one guy got thrown out of the game for questioning balls and strikes.

Pitch f/x had it a bit inside

Attempting to throwing your bat
on strike one after the 3-0 count doesn’t make any friends with the ump.
hecanthithecanthithecanthithecanthit
same pitch
Dunc got rang up on in the earlier innings. May not b a strike, but it’s too close to take and at least the ump is being consistent.

apparently, the new yankee stadium opening was so important
BBTonight spent almost the entire A block talking about it. i can see if it was vs the sawx or at least if it was a close game. but the tribe blew them out, so it wasn’t that good of a game. yet,,,,,,,,but i digress.

I really don't like Baseball Tonight
All they do is talk about the Yankees and the Sox, and they super-exaggerate ever SSS oddity early in the season. And they have freaking John McClaren, who laughs whenever Karl Ravech mentions win probability. Ironically, he was a manager, so knowing and using win probability might have benefited him.

i've been watching a lot of MLB Network
and outside of a few gripes, it’s been really good. They do live look-ins constantly, especially in big situations. I’ve been very happy with it.

MLB Network is very good
Harold Reynolds kind of pisses me off but the features are excellent. I was talking about BBTN, which undeniably sucks.

i'm still pissed i can't get that on Dish
i have DTV, but only for the EI. so i only have the family pack or whatever the hell they call their cheapest package. and it’s not on it. i’ll probably upgrade eventually, but i’m not happy about it. it’s supposed to be on all their packages, and it’s not.

I don't know the guy's name
but the dude who wasn’t a player is very fun. He was totally busting casey’s balls last night for stupid cliches. casey fired back with “when you were a little leaguer, you …”
OTOH, the dude in the middle is terrible. He’s alike a wannabe joe morgan, but the guys on either side actually argue back, which is awesome. It’s on the cusp, now; it could easily become ESPN_MLB, or it could be something really interesting. If the MLBN crew was a baseball mogul player, it would be 68 (91). Lots of potential, but not quite there.

Are you talking about Barry Larkin?
Cuz if so, I would agree that he’s not been that good. Although nowhere near Joe Morgan levels. I’ve really enjoyed Sean Casey so far. He’s pretty funny and has some interesting takes on things.
Their analysis is okay overall, but I really like their coverage. I’ll have it on at night for background while I study and they cover the games really well. Every big situation late in the game you get to see live, basically. Pretty cool.

If they got rid of Harold Reynolds it would be good
He is fun and all, but his analysis is awful. As a whole, they have too many ex-players who really don’t know that much about the current game and just say a lot of cliches. I like all of their personalities, but I would like to see some different styles of analysis.

he does way too much substitution of volume for logic. Drives me crazy.

they got their D team on tonight
the only one there who knows what he’s talking about is Timmy K, and the other guys keep talking over him. now that the finally showed the highlights, i can turn the channel.
btw, they slowed down the curve to Bradly, it had to have crossed the front of the plate as a strike, because i looked like Yadda clearly caught it inside.

This season has been brutal
despite paying for both mlb.tv and extra innings, I’ve been able to watch maybe 3 games live this entire season so far, due to the stupid april schedule, business travel, and the ridiculous blackouts. And now, a guy whose minor league starts I’ve followed almost daily for two years gets his first MLB start against the pinnacle of evilness, the ace of the division rivals, and I’ll be in my grumble cubicle, staring out at aviation boulevard.
Boo.

ha!
Duncan was safe on the 6th inning hit and run. He was never tagged. You can clearly see the glove miss his arm on the initial tag, then his left arm hits the bag causing a jolt, then the glove comes back and tags him.
Lol.
