You end up not being able to throw enough strikes if you’re pitching off your off-speed and eventually fall behind in counts—-then you pretty much have to bring the fastball and it’s been worn down by the later innings. Usually.

I wonder what
the dynamic is b/w Rasmus and the other OFers. No one likes to sit. I’m sure Ankiel isn’t happy the days he’s on the bench. Usually guys are unhappy when they aren’t playing. Competition can breed dislike for whomever you’re in the competition with. Anyone who played has seen this on teams before. Anyway, it’s impossible to know, really, but I was thinking about it and thought I’d post it.
