Gregg sucks. As a closer he will get more high leverage situations than Marmol will as a setup man.

This will cause Lou
to over-use Marmol once again. Last year, he used him way too much and without being relegated to only the 9th inning of 3-run or less leads, he’ll use him all over the place.

I like Marmol better in the setup role. Frequently, setup men enter the game in stickier situations than the closer. I believe Marmol is a better pitcher than Gregg. Marmol will have less margin for error in the seventh and eighth innings than Gregg will have in the ninth. Put in the better pitcher in the tougher situations.
