Around SBN: Cal RB Jahvid Best Seriously Injured, Carted Off Field

Oh Julian!

I gotta say, i miss Julian Tavarez playing for the Cards.  Even though we never used him as a starter i still liked him in the pen. his year in 2004 was great (proving that dave duncan's skills with pitchers just somehow brings the best out of most of the pitchers he meets.....most)

I personally think julian is one of the most off the wall players in the game today when he's not pitching, and even though i hated it when he went to boston, i'm of course glad he signed with the nats, even though i'm not too happy with the way he went about it.  600 pound J-Lo ha!

There is this video i watched on youtube with papelbon trying to speak spanish with julian helping him off camera back in 08.  Julian's comments are hilarious to listen to in the background, and papelbon's thick louisiana accent trying to speak spanish is great.

I don't think anyone witht he complexion of moldy cheeze should be speaking on appearences.

But other than that, very funny quote. Were I a Nats fan, the quote would be a little concerning/insulting.

It’s not polite, but at least it’s not the normal BS.

Were you a Nats fan

Your team would be VERY concerning/insulting.

Patiently awaiting the day Colby Rasmus does this: .275/.381/.551/.932, 29HR, in St. Louis...

Not related

But, as great a player as he is, I really, really hate Papelbon.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die.

true off the field

but on the field i would like papelbon as our closer if he was a cardinal, i couldn’t imagine what he’d do in one of those “play like a cardinal” commercials. Maybe be in the locker room, everyone leaves, and he starts river dancing…..
