Made me laugh, too
Still haven’t seen the new ballpark, though I was in town for a while when the old one was being torn down . I’ll be in Saint Louis in July and I honestly don’t care if there’s a big mudhole outside, just as long as I get in for a few games.
Hey, they took my idea!
Albeit three years too late.
Hell, I’m just glad they’re finally using it for something.

can I just build an underground lair where the old ballpark was?

people who want to build underground lairs
usually don’t ask for permission

And then there's Miami
I was just reading how Miami is getting a new ballpark… Which is good for baseball, but how good is it for Miami? I don’t see any tremendous benefit to the community from the new Busch Stadium. I like the new stadium, don’t get me wrong. People nostalgic for the Busch 2 soon forget that in the old stadium you were either sitting in your seat or standing in line (for food or to use the bathroom). The new Busch is much friendlier, open, etc. But I digress… What good to the community-at-large is a new stadium. The folks of Miami are being sold the “world will see us/wonderful PR” bill-of-sale. We’ve got the All Star game in a few months, and it’s not as though we’re all geeked up about the PR for St. Louis…
Honi soit qui mal y pense.
Having a stadium
which is actually close to miami could be good for miami.
