How good is Pujols?
Also, by WAR here is a list of things that Pujols was better than in 2008...
-The Padres starting infield
-The Padres starting rotation
-The Cardinals starting rotation
-2 Ryan Howards
-3 Carlos Delgados
-All of the Red's position players combined
-All of the Nationals pitchers combined
-All of the starting first basemen in the NL East combined
-4 Brad Lidges
-The pitching staffs of the Orioles and Pirates combined
-Tom Haudricourt

Ahahahahahaha
I think Pujols by himself could get more wins for the Padres then the rest of their team
My avatar is 3 years into the future for sure...
It was actually closer to 3

Probably -7.
For the place vote he put El Hombre in the MVP balloting.
I mean . . . dude. Tommy! You gotta be kidding me, right?
Personally I’d have just ASSIGNED him a WAR of . . . oh, I dunno. Negative Eleventy Billion or something.

For Haudricourt I actually used WAAD (wins above average douchebag)
He was worth about 8 WAAD, so he gave Pujols a run for his money.

We should just measure baseball players with a new stat: the Albert Pujols
An Albert Pujols (AP for short) of 1.000 is defined as how valuable Albert Pujols is, and we can safely assume that this is the maximum AP attainable (possibly by mathematical certainty). A player’s AP represents how close they come to being as valuable as Albert; an AP of .350, for example, is quite respectable. An AP of .600 would be a career year for most players. We can use WAR or a similar value stat as the basis for AP. This would make the scale somewhat resembling OBP or SLG, so it would be fairly easy for new users to understand. Although it is an assumption that nobody can exceed an AP of 1.000, I wouldn’t put it past Albert Pujols to find a way to do it.
