Baseball America Posts Top 100 Prospects

http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/prospects/rankings/top-100-prospects/2009/267698.html

Colby Rasmus comes in at #3, Brett Wallace #40, Chris Perez #91

There's also descriptions (a relevant # for each player) that are kind of interesting, but not a whole lot of analysis really.  More just a random quip about each player that gives you at least an idea of what their best attribute is.

I'm sure this could better fit as a fanshot, but for some reason it wouldn't post (I've never done a fanshot before) and I figured this would actually potentially be a good source of discussion, so I put it here.

This is the perfect time...

for my fantasy league to abolish our farm system. While I have Price, Rasmus, and Snider sitting there.

It is eerie to see 3 Cardinals in the top 100...

I am just not used to seeing us actually excelling in this area. I feel like I should be forlornly be looking over the article and asking myself, “Where is our hope?” I haven’t been this optimistic since 2005.

kind of wierd

to see Perez in there and Motte absent. In terms of pure stuff (and AAA record in 2008) I’d say, if anything, Motte is the better prospect, though he obviously needs a second pitch to be a real dominant force at MLB level….

Because chicks dig the intentional base on balls.

Perez has 2 plus pitches

Motte has 1. Perez has the better stuff in terms of movement and velocity. Motte just throws really effin hard.

Plus Motte is like 4 years older than Perez

Hard to rate a 27 y.o. as a top 100 prospect.

Patiently awaiting the day Colby Rasmus does this: .275/.381/.551/.932, 29HR, in St. Louis...

something like

rasmus
motte

for

anderson or cahill
cardenas or weeks
james simmons
maybe throw in an mlb ready player like ryan sweeney
