Others
Pinata – Joe-L (it’s only applicable when read however)
Albert – The Mang, El Hombre
Perez – Young Pitcher, YP
Barton – Crabman
LaRue – Pornstache
And I can’t think of Welley’s self given nickname…..

Formality is important.
Being a proper gentleman (a Kentucky Colonel no less) The Tadallion understands the importance of the Old Verities.

One of the more clever ones I believe. He breaks stuff with a stick.

Glaus could be “Andre the Giant” and C. Duncan could be Dun-K

The full list again with the contributions of myself and others
I also feel strongly about the nicknames, especially as a part of VEB culture. I made a FanShot of this very list not too long ago, but this is a far more comprehensive listing. And, hey, I finally “got it” as to why people were calling Motte “Applesauce,” so now I feel like a little less of an idiot!
I’ve added everyone else I could think of that has a nickname (Ryan, Rasmus, DeWitt, and more), as well as a section for great Cardinal nicknames of recent and historical lore — I didn’t give that section much thought, but I’m sure it could go on forever. Oh, and a list of people who might need nicknames soon — we need to brainstorm some monikers for Franklin, Kinney, Miller, and others!
Yeah, I take this stuff too seriously. But, come on, who wants to actually call players by their real names? Except Pujols — he shall forever be simply “Albert” to me. If I’ve forgotten anything, feel free to add on.
THE ROTATION
Wainwright - Waino, Wagonmaker, AW, A.D.A.M.
Carpenter - Carp
Pineiro - Pinata, Joe-L,
Wellemeyer - The Colonel, Tadallion
Lohse - K-Lo, Lohsey
THE BULLPEN
Motte - Applesauce, Sauceman
Perez - El Toro, Young Pitcher (YP), The Prez
Thompson - Wonderbrad, Puppy-Kicker, Babyface
McClellan - K-Mac
Franklin - Franklinstein
THE INFIELD
Molina - Yadi
LaRue- Pornstar, Pornstache, LaRue ManChu
Pujols - Sir/Prince/King Albert, The Mang, El Hombre
K. Greene – Spicoli, Khalilbot
Glaus - Santa (Glaus)
Ryan - Boog
Wallace - Walrus, Brett the Bat
THE OUTFIELD
Duncan - Lil Dunc, Dunc
Ludwick - [Word]wick, Luddite, Luddy
Schumaker - Skippy, Skippy Two Shoes, Schu, Cobbler
Ankiel - Ank, The Natural
Mather - Joey Bombs
Barton - Crabman, The Astronaut
Stavinoha - Big Grit
Rasmus - Razzle, Raz
THE BRAINTRUST
Mozeliak - Mo
LaRussa - Don Tony, TLR
Duncan - GrimFace, Papa Dunc
Oquendo - The Secret Weapon
DeWitt - DeWallet
Other - LaDunc
NOTABLE FORMER CARDINAL NICKNAMES
McGwire - Big Mac
Hornsby - The Rajah
Gibson - Gibby, Hoot
Musial - Stan the Man
O. Smith- The Wizard
Slaughter - Country
Miles - Grit
Morris - Matty Mo
Edmonds - J-Ed, Jimmy Ballgame, Hollywood, Edmundo
Players that might make the team and thus require a new nickname of their own: Kinney, Freese, Thurston, Miller, Boggs, Manning, Ring, Barden, T. Greene, Hoffpauir, Craig.

Well, my mom says I'm a genius, so there!
In the end, all it took was for me to say it out loud and I had one of those awesome/embarrassing epiphany moments.
Maybe I should always read VEB out loud. Might annoy the roommates…

Speaking of money, I've been trying to come up with something referencing forefather Ben
But I just can’t think of anything I like.

If I had the time, skill, or energy, I would Photoshop Ryan Franklin’s face onto a $100 bill. Alas, I have none of those three requirements.
Franklin might be a special case…after all, rather than nicknaming him, we took his name and applied it to the alcoholic beverages he so constantly causes us to consume in excess.

I'm okay with that if he sucks again
But I think giving the guy more than one derogatory nickname is a little mean before we even see whether he’s going to be a useful arm this year.
Then again, maybe I’m just high on the spring training optimism.

It brings to mind people pounding him with a stick till he falls apart.

[Word]wick
I have used the following last year.
Thudwick
Studwick
Glovewick
Allstarwick
Dudwick
Popupwick
And I’m sure I’ll find some more this year.
Poor big Miles doesn’t have a little Miles anymore. We should trade him to the Cubs or something so he doesn’t get lonely.

Nerd Alert!
I sometimes think of Jeff Luhnow as Jeffro Tull—not because he rocks the flute so hard, but because he parlayed enlightenment baseball thinking into helping to revolutionize the farm system. Perhaps a catchier nickname would be “Who-now?” since he’s so incognito compared to the rest of the “brain trust”.

Anyone got any nicknames for Freese? He’ll probably make the ML roster outta ST, so he should be given his right of passage.
