NEED SOME LOCAL SUPPORT...

I am a diehard Cards fan, living in NJ, and I am two months away from the birth of my first child. I'm trying to get some Cards gear for him, and I remember that there was a store somewhere in downtown St. Louis (I think) that had a LOT of stuff. As I remember it, the store was located in a "mall"-type place, and it had a glass ceiling (or lots of windows). Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I do not recall the name of the store.

In addition, I'm also not hellbent on the merchandise coming from that particular place, so if there are alternative places, that would be great, as well.

Thanks in advance. Don't know where else to go to ask something like this...

Are you thinking of Union Station?

There used to be a store in there that had all kinds of Cards merchandise. I’m not sure what the name of the store is and if it’s even still there.

There are Cardinals stores in nearly every mall in STL

But if you’re looking for getting the most for your money, check out any STL Walmart. It might not be as plentiful during the off-season, but between April and October, all the stores typically have a giant Cards section with nearly every article of Cadinals-branded clothing you can think of. If you’re not a fan of Walmart, however, you might want to stick to the mall.

Yeah

You were definitely thinking of Union Station. I was there a couple months ago and there was still a Cards store in it. But by now…who knows. That place is becoming a ghost town. I know the St. Clair Square mall in Fairview Heights, just across the river, has a Cards store with baby gear, as I’m sure most STL area malls do.

please clarify

are you looking to order merchandise, or will you be traveling to STL?

not headed to st. louis...

I asked my brother to take care of Cards baby gear, but he didn’t know where to go (online or by phone). I told him that I would find out. I’m pretty sure that it’s the Union Station one (Cardinals Clubhouse???). It sounds like they have quite a few stores, so it probably doesn’t make a difference which location I was at before…

My little guy is leaving the hospital in red, regardless.

oh, and red is always good

but given the whole traditional color associations thing, I suggest you get him some sweet powder blue Cardinals gear too.

yes...

powder blue is perfect. funny – my brother always talks about the old school away jerseys. i’m sure that’s what he will get. thanks for writing, everyone.

my sister always wears a vintage

brock blue that rocks – it’s huge and sorta a skirt on her, though. think she paid more for it than a new one would cost.

same sister gave me a first base from old busch’s final season, with a framed boxscore from the game it was used in – cards/cubs and cards lost 1-0 or 2-1 i believe. i’d check but it’s on a wall elsewhere than i presently am. anyway, i appreciated the thought but gave her hell for picking a loser game – it may have been 1-0 on a lee homer, in retrospect.

don't know where in jersey you are

but considering the little guy isn’t going to fit the gear long, if it’s convenient why not just hit up Canal Street? family members used to always buy card gear there when visiting me – they were kids, not infants, but i assume they carry all sizes. it’s counterfeit, but awfully cheap.
