Take the '06 WS Roster Quiz!
Carp and the boys will crack open the NLDS against the Dodgers tonight, and I'm sure we've all got dreams a-brewin' of that spectacular playoff run from three years back.
But, just how lucid were we all that fantastic fall? How badly did those Cuervo-drenched postgame celebrations degrade our World Series memories?
If you practiced some temperance in '06 and have viewed, multiple times, each game of that installment of the Fall Classic, you might be able to name all 25 men (plus three notable omissions) on the Cardinals' last World Series roster.
If you'd like to give it a shot, here's the quiz I made on Sporcle!: http://www.sporcle.com/games/zackkrunkly/06cardsroster.
Be warned. There could be a high frustration factor in this quiz. I took the thing immediately after I created it, and I still missed two!
Feel free to let me know if I made any factual errors. And, comment to let us all know if you're proud of your score!
EDIT: A lot of answers are posted in the comments below, so don't scroll down (unless you absolutely have to get that last name).

Forgot Looper, of all people, and Preston Wilson

took me forever to remember wilson's name

I forgot Looper, Bennett, and Thompson. Poor Thompson… he’s still on the team and I forgot him. I kept thinking for sure tha Jose Vizcaino and Julian Tavarez and Miguel Cairo should be in there, but history refused to change itself to fit my idea of how things should have happened.
Albert Pujols does not have "down" years. He has "~6 WAR" years.
I also tried to enter Vizcaino and Cairo.

I forgot Looper, too, which is unbelievable to me. I also forgot Mark Mulder (which has to be some sort of subconscious way to deal with that trade for him). I also forgot J-Rod, which is unacceptable.
Is it bad that the “DH” slot made me think of Miles because I thought that maybe TLR penciled him in as the DH in a game?

I forgot Tyler Johnson and Josh Hancock, forgetting Josh Hancock makes me feel really bad and ruined my day. Thanks.
I forgot hancock and J-rod and ended up with 26, too.

Missed Wilson, Taguchi (un-forgiveable, I know), Isringhausen (just put him out of mind, i guess), Hancock, Thompson (poor Brad Thompson…), and J-Rod.
Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

Forgot Gary Bennett, Tyler Johnson, and John Rodriguez. Oh well. I had a fun time trying to get Scott Spiezio spelled correctly.

I forgot Looper as well.
Weird how many of us have forgotten him.
I got 21 of 28
… and a couple of my misses were of the kick-myself variety.
I missed: Tyler Johnson, Randy Flores, Belliard (kick myself), Preston Wilson (kick myself), Hancock (just makes me feel bad), Mulder, and Marquis (both of which make me kind of proud to have forgotten, in a way.)
Lou Brock loves Lamp.
You should definitely kick yourself
for forgetting all of those guys while still remembering that John Rodriguez was on the team.

Can’t believe I forgot about Looper and Mulder.

Johnson always gets me
Yeah, I retook the quiz last night after posting this, and I couldn’t remember that last RP.
Also
I just checked the game stats, and some people are forgetting Pujols (guessed 98.8% of the time). He’s still the most-guessed, though, with Carp right behind at 96.8%. I’ll probably post the full stats later in the week just in case anyone wants to see.
Thanks to everyone! Over 400 people took the quiz today!
Perfect score!

i guess i spelled toguchi wrong and didnt let me get that right lol so really 27 just missed mulder, guess i was able to write him out of my memory
Pujols takes out "I" in BIG and "A" in MAC, previously considered to be an unyielding, consonant threat
Maybe because it's so obvious, people forget?
He was in the last third of player names I entered.
