Sunday Night / VEB Appreciation Thread

main thread is pushing 1000. not sure how much use there will be for this, but what the heck, here it is

Star-divide

The season is over, the Cardinals will play the Dodgers in the NLDS starting Wednesday night. So they've got that going for them. They didn't end the season the way any of us wanted them to. Especially losing to those Dbags, but at least we get 3 more games in October. Cherish that VEB. Because there's 22 other teams that don't get this priviedge.

I also just want to say a special thank you to Dan, Chuck & Red for all the hard work they've done this season. Like i said at the end of the main thread, replacing Lboros was probably an impossible job. But not only have they done the impossible, but they went above & beyond everyone's expectations & have actually made VEB better than ever. And that right there says all you need to know about those 3 gents. They made the best Cardinals site even better. So once again, I thank you three for all you've done. Without your hard work & dedication, this Cardinal fan & many others wouldn't be half the fans we are today.

And a tip o the cap to Az too. We wouldn't be VEB without our resident robot over lord. Enjoy your Sunday night VEB.

Too bad you're not a Rams fan.

Your boy has been getting bullied over at TST. I gave up trying to defend him (although, he defends me too!!!).

How ‘bout it ’fang? I’m trying my best over there (and believe me, it’s all I can do not to permanently delete some of the morans…..I took care of that stupid all caps fanpost for you…….enough was enough, right?), but wouldn’t it be nice to have gdm busting some heads over there too?

oh man having gdm over there would make my life

he could at least bring more common sense to the table, of which is severely lacking over there most of the time.

why did you quit defending me? too many idiots? because we seem to think alike almost all the time. i’d like to think i’m doing a decent job of holding my own. i sneak a few smart ass remarks to edpjr once in awhile, but that’s only because he personally attacks me whenever he knows i’m right and he can’t argue his point anymore.

‘taiko’ actually sent me an email earlier this week telling me to “not let the jackasses get me down,” it was a nice gesture. i just wish that site would have more people like the people at this one. or at least have some common sense every once in awhile.

Just watched a cool movie

Assassination of a High School President (2008) it went straight to DVD because the production company went into bankruptcy. Even though it is movie based in a a high school it didn’t feel like a high school movie. Closer to Veronica Mars meets Chinatown. Plus, you get to see Mischa Barton breasts in it and Bruce Willis has a good character in it.

Have you been watching the Dodgers?

It’s been pretty ugly… I think we match up well. I like our right-handed hitters in game 1 and 2 relative to their lineup against the aces. Then they’ve got Billingsley and Padilla against Pineiro and Smoltz in STL. Again, advantage STL. And if it goes to Game 5 we’ve got Carp.

They’ve got the pen, no question, but I remember in ’05 the key was supposedly the Great Gagne and all he did was sit on his ass for four games.

I think it's Kershaw.

I also just want to say a special thank you to Dan, Chuck & Red for all the hard work they’ve done this season. Like i said at the end of the main thread, replacing Lboros was probably an impossible job. But not only have they done the impossible, but they went above & beyond everyone’s expectations & have actually made VEB better than ever.

I disagree. SSS. I’m not sure the quality is sustainable; the peripherals really don’t support it. I fully expect a regression to the mean next year.

VEB is Joel Piñeiro??

Disagree. Adam Wainwright. Not even the best on the staff but still an ace. That’s what the eyeballs tell us!
