Cardinals @ Cubs 1:20pm
St. Louis Cardinals at Chicago Cubs, Sep 19, 2008 2:20 PM EDT
Chances are good that the Cubs -- whose magic number is 2 -- will clinch against the Cardinals during this series. That's going to be a hard celebration to stomach so I would suggest bracing yourself (or stocking up on the Franklins).
Wainwright vs. Zambrano this afternoon. Maybe the no-hitter sapped Big Z and we'll just knock him around. Maybe...

Watching gameday at ground level
so I put my gameday display so that it looks like I am watching it from the Umpires point of view, completely flat till the mound comes up, you can see some wicked movement on Z’s pitches, especially the wild pitch had some weird twists and turns, I have a renewed respect for what these hitters are trying to do up there.

Today, Hughes asked him to give the breakdown on Zambrano

The Blues opened up training camp today
out at the Mills. It’s an exciting time – the time just prior to the season where every team is tied and every team is a Stanley Cup hopeful. You remember late-March, i presume. Even with our lowered expectations for the team, you still probably followed the goings-on and play-by-plays and practice drills and found glimmers of hope for the upcoming baseball season. Same with the Blues.
I’ve always found it funny that I can invest so entirely in the baseball season, watching every game and following almost every pitch and then, when it ends, it’s always, “Well, time to watch hockey!” It’s just funny, is all, that after all that time, I can just shut down my Cardinals fan-ness and put on my Blues hat so easily.
I once shot a man just to see him die...then I got distracted and missed it.

Where's Shannon?
I hear Horton with Rooney, I hope Mike is OK.

Mike is on assignment
He hosted a party for Gibson at his place yesterday.(maybe it was wenesday.) So he is here in St. Louis. I Don’t think he is going to be up in Chicago at all this week but will return to calling the game once they get back to St. Louis.

Skippy uncorked a wild throw that almost went into the Cards dugout
Johnson had to slide to a stop & grab it. his look of disgust out to Skippy was priceless because a good throw probably would have gotten the runner out at home

IT woulda been nice -
to add a clean 10-spot to the team run differential.
There's some fucking pros out there that wanna fucking play the game ... ... but you're stuck in the fucking stigma of the fucking Dodgers, and the Phillies, and the Cardinals, and all that cheap shit.
