Cardinals announce 09 Schedule
The Cardinals open the season on April 6th at home vs the Pirates for 4 games followed by Houston for 3 with no off days planned during that homestand.
They close out the regular season on Oct 4th vs the Brewers.
We play 7 in Chitown and 9 at home with the Cubbies.
They only have 2 trips with more than 2 cities or 7 games which is nice.
Lastly IL play will consist of: Royals Tiggers, Twinkies at Busch and going to Reyesland and KC

Looks to be a better schedule than this year's.
Not sure what I think about playing the Cubs so much early in the season but in a way I will be glad to get those games over with early since we seem to play better ball early in the season. But our interleague schedule looks much better this year. Let’s just hope next September is much better than this one.
We’ve got a long way to go and a short time to get there.

We miss Chicago though
I would have loved to have a trip to the Sox instead of one of the Royals trips. While I understand the Royals “rivalry” I would also rather see every team in the division we are supposed to be playing that year.

I agree it would be cool to see us play the WSox
but on paper playing the Royals SHOULD be an easier task. Of course it didn’t turn out that way this year…but as far as getting potential wins I would rather play the Royals at KC than the Sox at Chicago.

Sheesh...
Can we get AL East teams at home for cryin’ out loud? We play the Tigers every freakin’ year – like MLB is perpetuating the Leyland LaRussa love connection or something.
Understand the Royals. It’s a Missourah/Missouree thing. But damn, can we get the Yankees at Busch in 2010?

"We play 7 in Chitown and 9 at home with the Cubbies."
Get ready to hear cub fans complain about that one again. That’s like 3 years in a row the Cards have had more home games than road games against the cubs.
Nothin'. A handful of nothin'. You stupid mullet head. He beat you with nothin'. Just like today when he kept comin' back at me......with nothin'.
Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.

Yah, and the Cards have done Soooo much with that advantage
The birds haven’t won a season’s series against the Cubs since 2004….Cripes. And that ’06 team was Terrible with a capital “T”.
