Anthony Reyes starts FRI. for Cle.
Can't wait to see a bunch of different things unfold for me and my beliefs of the cardinals staff with this start. Will Reyes be a good starter in the MLB contrary to what Duncan and LaRussa believe? do we get shafted in the trade by not selling high, say after the 2006 World Series when his value could have been at it's highest ever in a Cardinals uniform? Will the Reyes/Duncan philosophy thing pan out to see if Duncan has maybe also ruined some careers as well as revived them? Friday will be an interesting day my friends, that's why this is baseball.

Ha! It's not going to tell US anything......
It is going to be the second step for the Indians in their evaluation process-the first step were his minor league starts-which they were very pleased with. Now they need to see if they can help him convert that to the ML level. Cleveland has a good track record turning around their OWN struggling starters-it will tell us something about them too, if they can help him get going in the right direction. One other thing I noticed is that Cleveland Indians management, from Shapiro on down to the minor league pitching coach are excited to have him in the organization. When was the last time anyone in the Cardinals management even wanted him around?
She isn't crazy, she's just not impressed.

I hope he pitches well. I’d like to see him turn things around.

he already had a AAA
start for them and did not do well…lets let A rey do well or fail miserably on a consistent basis before we evaluate that trade. He’s always had flashes…by the way hows the guy they got for him doing?
I can't believe i gave up a homerun to that punch and judy hitter-major league 2

He's since had a second AAA start
where he pitched 8 innings and gave up 1 ER. I’m pulling for Reyes. I hope he succeeds.

Well, so far, not bad for him...
6.1 ip, 7 hits, 1 run, 1 bb, 4ks in his first start with the Indians.
Interesting, 88 pitches thrown, 62 strikes. He always had trouble with the strike zone here (but not in the minors).

This from Rotoworld 8/30
Anthony Reyes tossed seven innings of one-run ball Saturday, but was left with a no-decision as the Indians lost in extra innings.
Reyes gave up a hit per inning, but struck out three and issued just one walk. The only run he gave up was a solo shot to Tug Hulett. He’s now 2-1 with a 2.01 ERA in five starts since coming over from the Cardinals. Dave Duncan looks pretty silly right now for not being able to corral and mentor this guy.
