Chris Lambert watch:

Former Cardinals 1st round pick, making his Major League debut for the Detroit Tigers…

1IP, 1K, 0R, 0H, 9 pitches. Fastball is topping out at 90, so far.

The Tigers have already won that trade.

LOL

I have a picture I took of Friday nights lineup, after all the changes once we were up big. At the time, our lineup was this:

Skip CF
Miles SS
Mather RF
LaRue C
Barton LF
Lopez 3B
Molina 1B
Pineiro P
Izturis SS

How scary would THAT be if it were our starting lineup?

If we don’t get close I’m not sure we can catch them.

B) Brew Crew won’t collapse

No

Not even a remote question. His mediocre season has been built on a cloud of smoke xFIP of 5.06, his velocity took a huge hit this year, he isn’t good.

by Evilfrog on Aug 26, 2008 7:29 PM EDT reply actions

Why can't we...

Take a look at the brew and cubbies schedule and find some common teams they’re going to play against.

Then get aligned with that team (or teams) and send them guys like Phelps, Marti and a few others to help them win over waivers. Or even a pitcher or two. it can be worked out as a gentlemans agreement and a rest of the year “hands on showcase/rental”, we’ll get them back at the end of the year, but maybe they’ll actually field a team that could possibly give those two some hell.

Of course someone else could get in the way on the waiver line, but it could be pulled back anyhow. It’ll get some Memphis guys some ML experience as well, even if it wasn’t with us.

Wellemeyer pitching for his contract?

With Wellemeyer due to be a free agent after this season, do you think his last few starts will decide whether or not we re-sign him? He had a good start to the season, so-so middle, and now he’s straightened himself out lately.

Field conditions

Seriously. Did they let the grounds crew interns have free reign over the field this evening. The infield looks messy.

I love the Pirates

runner at first, no outs. Dougie Menk hits a single, Moss gets thrown out a third. Cardinal sin.

Freddy Sanchez then walks in a 9 pitch at-bat. So, instead of loaded with no outs, it’s 1st and 2nd with 1 out.

my brother swears Yadda blew by him on 55 yesterday just south of effingham illnoise

in a black GMC Denali

he swears it was Yadda because the plates said YMolina, and there was some sort of Cardinal decal painted on the fender

i dont think it was him. why would a MLB player have his tags as his name? especially in the STL where they worship every Cardinal.

thats funny

i used to see a lot of rams in earth city when i would be out there. they would be coming and going from practice and half of them were in massive SUV’s with huge ram decals. they certainly didn’t care about being recognized

by riotmute on Aug 26, 2008 9:19 PM EDT up reply actions

yeah, i get that. but i bet they dont have their name as their license plate

he was hauling ass to, probably going close to 90 according to my bro. i still dont think it was him though. he didn’t see the driver, and i just cant see Yadda having his name on his plates.
